Chapter 24

Noones Pov

Lemon Drop Wine opened the door in annoyance, angry that the doorbell rang just as he was about to have some fun. He had just opened the door a slight bit when it swung open by itself. He looked up to see a delivery man holding a pizza box. Who does he think he is? Lemon Drop Wine thought angrily.

"What do you want? I didn't order any pizza," Lemon Drop Wine snapped, looking at the figure up and down suspiciously.

He did not recognize Sparkling, but he still felt as if he had seen the guy somewhere and wanted him to leave as soon as possible.

"Chill out, I just wanted to say, enjoy~" Sparkling winked.

"Enjoy wh-"

Sparkling completely lost his cool just then. Instantly he stopped faking his calmness and light kindness, and in a second he was furious. He socked Lemon Drop Wine in the stomach, cutting off his sentence. 

The blow knocked the wind out of him and froze him in place. He fell to his knees soon after and Sparkling spotted Herb staring at him with his mouth in an 0 shape a few feet away.

"H-heh, hey Herb," Sparkling chuckled timidly, "Good thing you're here, so surprise?"

"What are you doing Sparkling?" Almond asked, walking up to them with a pair of handcuffs, "OI! SPARKLING!"

Sparkling was staring at Herb, transfixed. He hadn't seen Herb in so long and he missed him so damn much. His cute face, his adorable obsession with plants and even the snappy kind, and his amazing everything. 

Meanwhile Herb was also gazing at Sparkling in schock and disbelief. Sparkling was here. Here for him. The person he missed the most only a few minutes ago was standing only a few feet away from him.

One day can feel like an eternity. 

On the call of Almond's shout, Sparkling and Herb snapped out of their trance.

"Huh? Oh sorry," Sparkling exclaimed, turning around to face Almond..

.. but he turned too fast and the pizza he was holding in a box slid out and landed ontop of Lemon Drop Wine who was regaining his concious.

"Woah- What THE FUCK?!" Lemon Drop's muffled voice yelled from underneath the pizza.

"Sparkling! How'd you find me?" Herb cried, finally able to speak and move.

Tears formed in his eyes and he ran to Sparkling, giving him a tight hug and never wanting to let go. Sparkling embrace Herb, taking in everything he wanted and missed and was worried for. He wiped away one of Herb's tears and gave him a smile.

"I told you that I would give him a punch, didn't I?" Sparkling said, giving a wink to lighten the mood slightly, "Plus, Almond and the others helped out a ton."

"That's great," Herb sniffed, smling, "Where is ever-"

"HYAAAA!" Latte screamed, popping into view.

She gave an upward kick to Lemond Drop Wine's jaw, knocking him right onto his back and also sending the pizza flying onto Almond's shirt. Almond looked down at the pizza with slight shock, disgust, and weariness.

"Oops, sorry Almond," Latte giggled nervously as she watched the pizza slowly slide off Almond's shirt.

Almond rubbed his temples in annoyance and thought Great, how will Walnut think? Add in Rasp-

"What the hell are you two doing?" Raspberry yelled angrily, running up to the cookies, "We're supposed to beat this guy up!"

"He is going to jail, alive," Almond sighed again, frustrated, "Sparkling, please make sure Herb is alright."

"Just one punch!" Raspberry protested.

Before Almond could argue, Raspberry had grabbed a nearby fallen tree branch and thwacked Lemon Drop Wine a few couple times. Herb watched slightly scared at the two girl's behaviour. Latte was being restrained by Espresso who had just arrived with Madeleine. Madeleine also took a while to take the screaming furious Raspberry off.

"Thank you," Almond said, shooting the two girls a glare which they sent back, "Let's go."

"This is sexuall assult!" Lemon Drop Wine screamed.

Sparkling held Herb's hand and with his other hand, smacked Lemon Drop Wine out cold.

Almond cuffed Lemon Dro Wine's wrist and walked away, leaving the four cookies by themselves.

"Are you okay Herb?" Latte questioned, turning to Herb.

Herb nodded, still clinging onto Sparkling. Soon, all the cookies Herb met and became friends with and Clover was gathered around him, offering him water and other things. It overwelmed him.. and he noticed something because of that.

Everyone here, not only Clover, was worried about him.

They could have easily just given up on him, but they didn't.

Herb smiled brightly, despight having been kidnapped, because he has true friends now. 

He glanced down at his and Sparkling's hands, still clasped together, and he wanted to cry happy tears.

He also had a true lover now.

- The Next Day -

The two cookies were in Herb's garden and it was night time. The stars were glittering like jewels in the sky, and the only light that was on was a tiny glowberry Herb grew. They could've used the fountain but Herb wanted to make a glowberry.

Sparkling's hand was wrapped around Herb and Herb leaned on Sparkling's shoulder. They only needed eachother's warmth. Herb was still slightly traumitzed and jumpy, the past doesn't die easily but as long as he was with Sparkling, he feels like he'll be alright.

Herb had asked Sparkling a question: When and why did you start loving me? Sparkling already answered why, his answer made Herb smile and glow like the glowberry between them. Now Herb was waiting for Sparkling's answer for when. He wanted to know even though it was not important. 

"Sparky?" Herb whispered.

"Don't worry, I'm just thinking of a good way to say this," Sparkling whispered, "Hmm.. I think I have it."

He gently pressed a kiss onto my forehead.

"You've been planted on my mind ever since I met you."
