Planted in my mind

Chapter 2

Herb's pov

I sighed, satisfied with how my home turned out. I had decorated it with plants and soft green wallpaper. Now I can check up on my shop! I thought, smlining. I looked up at my clock. Oh shoot! It's almost 8, I'm going to be late for my second day!

I grabbed my coat and ran out the door to my shop which was just across the street. My shop was a small building which connected to my huge garden. My garden is connected to my house as well. I had gotten permission to build everything so close together in one gigantic area because I needed to care and check up on my plants a lot. Also I may have gotten such a big garden because of my Mom's, Sea fairy and Moonlight. 

I needed to freshen everything up before the first customer arrived. I quickly switched the sign to open then started to check up on my plants. I watered some fresh plants and moved a couple near to the window where there was more sunlight.

The door opened just as I settled down to eat breakfast. A guy wearing all black entered the shop. He had dark brown hair that covered one eyes, and big round glasses.

"I'd like some light blue flowers please," he said approaching me, "Erm, for a special... someone."

"Alright, give me a second," I said then stepped from behind my counter.

I led him to some flowers that were blue fading white.

"How about these?" I showed him the flowers, "They're called blue stars, and they are $14.25"

He nodded then remarked, "Your shop is set up nicely."

"Th-Thank you," I smiled nervously since I was always kind of shy to compliments, "By the way what's your name?" 

"Oh uh," he pause to take out some money, "It's Espresso, but please don't tell anyone named Latte that I was here."

"ooooo, why?" I questioned curiously, "Also here's your change."

"Ah well, she's my sister," he mumbled and took the flowers from my hand, "I have to go, bye!"

He waved to me then left the shop flustered. No doubt he had a crush on someone. I wonder who... It's not my business though, I should finish my breakfast.

My shop gradually filled with more people who would come up to me, pay, then leave. Others would look around for a while. To distract myself from doing nothing, I thought about my tour from 2 days ago. I thought about where each place was so that I wouldn't get lost. My thought soon got stuck onto one. My last stop.

I had went to a bar called "Sparkling." There I ordered tea, and met the bar tender.. Sparkling I assume. He was just oh so cute. His bubbly blonde hair, dazzling emerald eyes, his smile, and soft lips... ACK NO! Herb, stop thinking, arghhh.

Finally after around 4PM all the costumers had left. Time to close up the shop, I thought and flipped the sign back to closed. This time I locked the door from the inside and exited out the back so that I could care for my garden. So far, my only plants were fulling grown ones that were in my shop, or the ones in my house. I had just moved, so I hadn't had the chance to start on the plants in my garden.

I started with some hedges. I used my powers to help the seeds grow faster and then gently trimmed it. I created it so that it formed a rectangle surrounding the middle. I made a space to walk to the center on all four sides of the rectangle. I then marked the center with a circle where I wanted a fountain to be built. I also marked 4 places around the fountain and the corners of the garden for where I was going to plant some trees. I'll work on more plants tomorrow, my shop was only going to be open on weekdays and tomorrow was a Saturday. I would work on them today, but I first needed to order stepping stones to the center. 

After all that I collapsed onto the grass. I took out my phone and called some sugar gnomes to help build the fountain, bench, and place the stepping stones. They gladly said they would help and rushed over to my garden. I opened the door to let them in and they immediately started working. They placed the stepping stones, and made benches for me which they place onto the sides for me to move after they set the fountain. Three hours later, which during I ate dinner and prepared some food for them (they took a dinner break as well), they proudly presented it to me. The bench's were white with leaf designs. The fountain was marble with matching light green leaf patterns at the bottom. IT had two rings, but no water. The stepping stones were white, brown, and beige. 

"This is amazing!" I exclaimed, clapping my hands together, "but where's the water?"

"Well you see, this fountain isn't connected to water, so we decided to call someone to magic it," one of the sugar gnomes explained, "he should be here soon."

"OH MY! I'm so sorry i'm late," a guy suddenly yelled rushing towards me.

"Oh! You're.. Espresso right?" I say, remembering him from the morning, "How much should I pay you?"

"No, it's ok. My, uh, friend, liked your flowers very much," he said waving his hand, "This should take me about 30 minutes. Although that is if everything is successful. You should relax, I might take up to two hours."

"Oh ok, I'm going somewhere," I said, "I trust you not to blow my house up."

"Don't worry, your house is in good hands."

I smiled then walked towards Sparkling's bar, which was just a 10 minutes walk. It was around 10:27 when I left. I would be preparing for bed, but Espresso was working on my fountain right now. I might not be able to sleep with the sparks flying. Some tea would relax me as well, plus I'll be able to see Sparkling again..
