It had gotten worse.
Makoto had kept her word, and now, these disasters were virtually impossible to dodge. Scars building up on her body, day by day, it hurt to even walk or breathe. Hospital visits were constant, and Kagayaku had only tangled herself even more in the web of despair.
She had to stay off school for the entire week, that is, when she managed to build up the strength to go in on Friday, a shorter day than the rest. But she regretted it.
"You're ugly and cursed! No wonder nobody wants to be your friend!" Aella screamed at her from her table in the social area. The SkyWing and her friends were keeping their distance and refusing to accept her possessions, but that didn't mean they wouldn't stop tormenting her. Kagayaku said nothing, only rolling her eyes and snorting. Aella continued shouting, however. "Maybe my idiot sister still wants to stick with you, but guess what?! She's off sick today! You have N.O.B.O.D.Y!"
Upon hearing Mepuru was off sick, Kagayaku rose from her seat. "Thanks for giving me a reason to not listen to your dirty mouth." The hybrid snapped without even casting a glance in Aella's direction. The young hybrid began walking towards the door, but Aella cried out in anger.
"You think you can just walk away from ME?! The great Aella?!" The SkyWing dragonet roared, leaping up from her seat and bounding after Kagayaku, who began speedwalking towards the door.
Still keeping her distance, Aella continued to trot behind the hybrid dragonet, tormenting her.
Eventually, Kagayaku couldn't take it anymore.
"Shut... UP!!!" She screamed out, whirling around and attacking Aella, tearing a scratch over her snout, causing the SkyWing to gasp, alongside the other dragonets in the hallway that had witnessed the event. Kagayaku's eyes widened, she was shocked she'd even attacked her at all, while Aella began wailing in anguish. "Monster!! You're a monster!! No wonder you're cursed, and now you've cursed me!! AAAAH!" She screamed, running off in the direction of the nurses office.
Kagayaku let out a sigh before turning back to the hallway ahead of her, making her way to her classroom, before she was stopped in her tracks by the head teacher himself.
"Kagayaku, may I please see you for a moment?" He asked calmly, looking down at the scarred dragonet. Kagayaku immediately knew what was going to happen, so she silently nodded and followed the large SeaWing to his office, where he gestured for Kagayaku to sit down in front of him. "I was told you attacked a dragonet today, is that true?" He questioned, face serious.
The young hybrid sighed and nodded. It was best just to tell the truth. "Yes, sir." She mumbled.
"You know the school rules." The head teacher said, narrowing his bright beige eyes. "No violence towards other dragonets."
"Sorry, sir, I just snapped. She's been really mean to me lately." Kagayaku confessed, pressing her wings tightly against her sides.
The head teacher cocked his head in confusion. "How so?" He inquired.
"Aella's always asking for my lunch money, saying I'm a monster, cursed and that I have no friends." Kagayaku explained, frowning.
The head teacher then shook his head. "That isn't good. I'll talk to Aella later. Thank you for sharing." He stated as Kagayaku nodded, mouthed 'thank you', before walking towards the door. She entered the hallways and began making her way towards her classroom, unaware of a teacher that had appeared behind her, carrying some knives to restock the cooking classrooms. The teacher slipped, one of the knives falling out of the container with its blade sheath falling off, flying right at Kagayaku and stabbing her right in the shoulder.
Kagayaku screamed at the sudden pain and whirled around to pull out the knife, only for the blade to stab her right through the palm. Small tears appeared in her eyes, although she'd experienced much worse before. "OH my gosh!" The teacher carrying the knives cried. "I'm so sorry! We need to get you to a hospital right away!" She exclaimed as she saw Kagayaku trying to handle the knife, but only getting more and more injured as she tried.
The teacher walked up to Kagayaku and wrenched the bloody knife out of her grasp before directing her to the medical room, where she got examined. "This isn't good, we'll have to transfer her to a proper hospital." One of the nurses said. She was a relatively plump RainWing with usually bright, eye hurting scales, but right now, they were dull. "Yes, certainly, I will take her there." The second nurse said. He was a lean SandWing with light brown scales and white freckles dotted about his body.
The second nurse grabbed Kagayaku's bed and wheeled her outside of the school and to the hospital, where she was given a room and a new bed.
"Ah, it's you again, Kagayaku." One of the SkyWing doctors said. He was tall, with bright orange and yellow scales and a kind face. She'd grown to be fond of him during one of her frequent visits considering he always seemed to be the one taking care of her. "How many times are you going to show up here? You sure do get injured easily. You should be a bit more careful."
"Yeah." Kagayaku mumbled.
"Anyways, what's the problem this time?" He inquired, looking her over.
"Knife injury." The hybrid dragonet stated quietly.
"That's not good, although I suppose it's better than what you've had before." The doctor said.
So, Kagayaku was in the hospital getting treated, and a week later, she was discharged, though still maintaining the scars from the incident. She didn't return to school that day, nor did she the week after.
In a blink of eye, it seemed like it was already Thursday.
