Chapter 30|Its valentine

The rest of the following week went by uneventful. It's Friday, 13th February and also the day of the talent show. Anisa's parents have returned back to the states on Wednesday and her on the other hand have moved back to her grandparents.

Anisa have managed to come up with an idea on what to paint as per Norah instructed. Adnan will be picking her up so immediately after she's done getting dressed in her black scrubs, red crocs and red scarf with a black long sleeved turtleneck under. She held her lab coat in one hand and a bag which contains her painting instrument in the other. She could have just gotten some from the school store but she decided to take hers, she can't miss loosing something.

"Hello" she waved at Adnan who was sited in his car with his phone in hand.

"I was about to call you" he informed.

"Oh" Anisa mumbled as she dropped the bag she was carrying in the backseat then opened the door to the front sit and entered their car. "Why are you wearing this?" She asked pointing at the outfit he's wearing, he refused to tell her when she asked him last night just because he want to surprise her, as he says.

"Well because this is what I'll become in future" he said with a smirk on his face

"Wait I don't get you, last time I checked you love engineering" Anisa stayed the fact. She looked at him ones again from head to toe. Black turtleneck, camouflage trouser and a booth. His signature black facing cap was on his lap.

"I love engineering and that doesn't mean I will become an engineer in future" he stated his tone wavering. Anisa looked at him weirdly then touched his neck to feel his temperature.

"What are you doing?" He asked then chuckled.

"I'm just checking to see if you're okay. So, since when do people start abandoning what they love for what they don't?" Anisa asked

"Since the day Baba said I have to take his footsteps and become a soldier" Well that was deep.

"Wait? What? You mean baba want m you to become a soldier?" Anisa asked shocked

"Yep"

"But that's not what you want, you want to become an engineer"

"But I can become a soldier and an engineer at the same time if I go to NDA" Anisa gave him the are you serious look.

"Okay" she said reluctantly. She don't want to be the person trying to change his mind on what his parents want.

"Yeah" he murmured reaving the car to life. The six minutes drive to the school was in silence. While Anisa was thinking about why Adnan agreed knowing very well how tough it is to be in NDA, he was thinking of how to make it up to her before he leave.

They really had fun seeing people presenting and Anisa was totally surprised to see Norah in a different clothe, they purchased their career day outfit together.

"Why are you wearing this?" Anisa asked pointing at the blue Ankara with brown and pink pattern Norah is wearing.

"Clothes" She replied

"Taught you can't to become a lawyer? Have you changed your mind?" Anisa panicked

"Nah never. It's just that everybody is wearing something I've seen before so I decided to be different" Norah replied
