Chapter 33|Debate

The days flew like a jet and it's already Thursday, the day YSI will be debating against CSI, the students who will represent YSI have already been chosen and Anisa was among them, she is the the third speaker. She's a very good debater but the problem is her lack of confidence and courage. She did explained it to the teachers and they gave her tips on how to deal with her stage fright, she believe it will work because she managed to debate against the sophomore Art that Tuesday in front of the whole school and she didn't freak out that much.

Anisa still haven't said a thing to Norah nor Adnan about her breakup with Alamin, she felt bad for hiding it from Norah because the girl is her best friend but she couldn't bring herself to say it, she don't have the courage. And Norah's relationship was pretty good with Ahmad, it's just like Anisa pictured it, he's a good guy who uses the bad guy's facade to hide his emotions.

As for Alamin they still chat but not like before, just ones in a while. To say she was glad she got something to blame him of was an understatement, she was so glad about the whole Meenah and him issue, at least she get to feel relieved, she was more glad he accepted his fault and even apologized because now she feel like they are even. Anisa have concentrated more on reality because she know it's over between them and she hope he mend things with Meenah even tho she still have a little feelings for him, the guy is one of her two first loves so it'll be hard to stop loving him that easily. Right?

As for Zayn they communicate almost everyday, well he did told her about his new girlfriend, Kim nana aka Khadija Ismail Muktar. Of course he wouldn't just say it without flirting or being mean. He was like "I taught I could make you my girlfriend but you chose that jerk over me so I got a girlfriend too". Typical Zayn, right?

Ajmal and his girlfriend Husna were also right, she didn't get to thank her for letting her use her inhaler that day so she got her number from Ajmal and thanked her. Well that was how a new friendship started because they have already created a group with only the three of them, Norah was the third.

She have been acting weird and distant with Adnan, bro it's kind of hard to keep loving him and acting cool even tho he have no idea about what happened. She feel like she's deceiving him, like he deserves to know everything, the truth and all but she don't have the courage to explain things to him, she don't want to break him.

And yeah Adnan is still clinging to Jamila with the excuse that she's going through a lot and needs someone to speak to, whenever Anisa ask him what's the a lot she's going through his reply is always "she wouldn't be happy if I tell anybody, especially you" it's always annoying but she won't say anything because she have done worst than what he did, she cheated on him with his brother.

Since Crown stars were the ones who organized the debate competition, it's only fair that it happens in their school so some of YSI students and teachers were selected alongside the participants. It's not a football tournament that takes place on the field, it's a debate which might actually take place in a hall and it won't take a genius to figure out that the hall won't contain all of YSI and CSA students. So the ones who are in school will sit back and watch the debate in the hall, it will be projected.

The topic of the debate is "military regime is better than civilian regime" sides haven't been chosen yet, you just have to play a game and the school that wins get to select first, either for or against.

The game is chess and only one of the participants get to play. This is a development YSI are not aware of but they still went with the flow.

"Who can play chess among you three?" One of the teachers they came with asked. They exchanged a few glances before they all shook their heads in the negative.

"That means we'll have to choose someone who can play chess to join the debate, so who among you will quit?" Anisa know she could quit but...

"I will" the second speaker said before Anisa could finish thinking of she should quit or not.
