-Grandmother-

Once Cyprio had told me what he saw, I bolted from his manor. He begged me to understand it couldn't be changed, but I refused. He said Vincent and Julie would be in a realm no one has even heard from in over a thousand years. The realm was a fairytale when I was young. It was a realm of elves and dwarves, fey. It was madness. I would have never believed it if Cyprio hadn't told me it was real. If my grandson and Julie somehow go there, I will not be able to reach them. I would lose him again. My heart broke thinking about it.

When I got to the house, Vincent was just walking up to the door. Viktor and Julie were sitting outside. I almost collapsed with relief. No one was hurt. "Grandmother, are you okay?" Julie stood and walked over to me.

"I am fine, dear. How is Viktor?" I glanced at him. I was relieved he was okay, too. Maybe his new love for Julie would change him. He would become less spiteful. Already he has become calmer, mellower.

"He's annoying, but nothing too bad has happened," she muttered to me. Vincent was at the door and already bickering with his brother.

I sighed as the twin boys walked inside. "They didn't always used to be like this. When they were small, they used to actually get along."

Julie giggled. "What? What happened to them then?"

I looked to the ground. "Their father-" I was interrupted by a voice behind us.

"Whose father?"

I turned around to face my son. "William." I pulled Julie behind me and stood defensively. "What are you doing here?"

He pulled out a box with markings on it. "It took me quite a long time to find the house." He opened the box to reveal a silver dagger with ornate jewels on the hilt. I recognized the dagger. "Mother, you should step aside"

"William, I won't hurt you, but you must leave," I warned.

Vincent and Viktor soon came back outside when we didn't enter. "Father?" both of them asked at the same time. Vincent, however, ran towards him when he saw he was holding a knife.

I screamed. "No!" But Vincent threw himself forward, gathering power from around him. He was stabbed in the stomach. No blood poured out, no damaged was done. Vincent stopped moving and looked down at his chest. Then he was gone. I cried out again, leaving Julie's side. It was a mistake, but I let my emotions get the better of me. William threw the knife as I pulled him down to the dirt. The knife sunk into Julie's shoulder, and as she disappeared in the same manner as Vincent, the knife turned to dust. I assumed it was from the powers in her eyes.

I struck William's face once, then crawled over to the pile of ashes. Viktor came over and knelt in front of me. He raked his hands through the dirt where Julie was standing. "What happened?" he demanded. William seemed to be confused too, coming over to where I knelt. He acted panicked, like he lost something important.

I felt tears prick my eyes and I looked down at my hands, ignoring my son. "Vincent and Julie are gone." Viktor looked like he was about to cry, just as I was. I could do nothing, but sit there and let silent tears fall from my eyes. All that remained of my grandson and the girl I had come to consider my granddaughter were the ashes left by the evil blade that

took them away.
