-Vincent-
Fear rippled through me. I stood with Julie in the cloaking spell she cast on us. My fingers were laced with hers, keeping my nerves under control only slightly. Cyprio stood out in the clearing. It was a very specific clearing that had started this all. I felt the same hum of unsettling power. I now realize it was Jerimoth all along. He was here even when Julie got her eye ripped out, so long ago.
"I know this is who you really want, Jerimoth!" Cyprio called to the heavens.
Nothing happened. I tightened my grip on Julie's hand and she caressed my hand with her thumb. It was a little gesture, but it made me not want to puke anymore. Cyprio called out again, but was interrupted by rustling.
The man in a hooded cloak walked out of the trees. He materialized with several faceless copies of him as well. I supose you couldn't call them parts, but more like clones. "I see you have finally decided to face me again?" Jerimoth asked.
Cyprio pointed to one of the bushes. "Now!" But nothing happened. Harland and Cain were behind that bush. Two clones pulled them out, both of them bound with cursed chains. Their skin seared upon contact with the metal. Cyprio then turned to another tree as a cue, but Grandmother and Viktor were pulled out, tied up in those same chains.
"You're plans are gone." Jerimoth started to round about the groups. I sighed with relief. Julie's spell was powerful enough to hide us from him. As I looked at him, something caught my eye though. A silvery headed figure ran through the trees. My heart rate slowed from uncontrollable racing, to just really fast.
"Where is your real part, Cyprio?" Jerimoth asked. "And the girl with the Eyes? I want them both." A clone picked up Cain, readying to break his neck. Cyprio's jaw jumped with him clenching his teeth.
"Leave them out of this," he warned.
Jerimoth smiled. "Or what?"
"Go now, Vincent!" Julie whispered urgently, releasing my hand. I stood and started to gather energy in my hands, forming a sword. I ran out of the cloak and right for Jerimoth. I swung at him, but he dodged, only getting away by a hair.
"You think that can kill me?" he snarled at me.
"It can actually," Cyprio informed him, taking down a clone near him.
Jerimoth stopped to look at me. "No, you're the Resurrected."
I nodded once, throwing my sword at him. A clone blocked the sword though, taking it for him. I formed another weapon, this time throwing daggers.
"You won't get away from this unscathed!" Jerimoth cried out. He pointed to the clone that was still stationed next to Cain. Grandmother screamed once she realized. I understood much too late. The clone snapped Cain's neck and I threw the dagger. He was dead before the dagger even made it there.
Then Jerimoth disappeared, leaving us a message in the wind. "I will find the girl and her eyes, then I will kill you all."
