Can You Look My Way?

Lisa, early in the morning heard the rumors. Merida has a new hairstyle. Merida is walking with her head up. Merida was looking good. Merida changed. Everything Merida. Her forehead creased walking to her locker with those whispers everywhere. It was annoying.

She opened her locker and took out some of her things. From her bag, she took her lipstick and put on a shade of bad apple. Yes, she's back at school and she has a reputation to keep. She inhales deeply and lets it out. 

Once she slammed the door closed, her head almost spun when Candice was there, her evil smirk plastered. She didn't want to get beaten up.

"What do you want?" she asked Candice. 

"Why are you raising your voice at me?" Candice scoffs. "Heard the news yet? Miss ugly turned into a swan! And I hear someone saw Jacob begging for Merida to come back to him."

It doesn't interest her anymore. Why should she care about that jerk and about that damsel in distress? It's none of her business. And why the hell should she keep liking someone like Jacob? What do they think of her? An oblivious antagonist who only cares about one boy for her entire life and acts like a princess? That obviously is how they see her. Well, she isn't that.

"I am over Jacob, Candice. I don't want to be that girly mean shit anymore. If you hate her, go ahead and bully her."

"And you think you're a saint now? It's not going to be that long and you'll damn go back and bully her."

Lisa flashed a sweet smile at Candice before walking past her.  No, she's freakin' done with Merida and everyone else. She just wants to stay away and do her own damn... 

At the classroom doorway, she stopped at the sight of Merida. She had a big smile on her face that makes a big difference from the way she was but that wasn't only it, she was smiling brightly at Leo. They're smiling together and how she wished she could say they weren't much of a big deal but they are. 

Immediately she looked away. Her brows instantly crossed when she realized what she has done. Why does she need to look away when it's just damn Leo and Merida? She doesn't owe them anything. Her mood is just completely ruined.

Lisa walked to her seat and realized, she wasn't the only one who is uneasy with this. Jacob was also there, pain written all over his face. It's too late for you, boy. You just lost, she thought. 

It was not long that Mr. Talez, their instructor came but the big surprise for them as he was with a lady. Lisa's eyes widened to see their possible new classmate, she looks exactly like Leo. She jerked to see Leo and he just blurted, "What are you doing here?" 

Perhaps she is his sister? she asked in her head. 

But then the lady introduced herself and that's when Lisa knew she is Yuri, Leo's cousin. The worst part of it was when she waved hello to Merida. She even knows Merida already. Just how close are they?

There was no time for her to think about it when the class started. Lisa was ready to shake it off and pay no attention to everyone else when suddenly Mr. Tallez burst out.

"The three of you!" He yells and looks at the three whispering mice, Merida, Yuri, and Leo.  "Go to detention!"

The look on Lisa's face was the same as Jacob's when the three stand up and started taking their slips to detention. Although she already said she won't be minding them, she just couldn't help it. Now she needs to think of something to make her go.

After a few moments more of thinking that she finally decided to pull out her lipstick and mirror. She started tainting her lips and making the sound you make when sassy ladies puck their lips and blow a kiss. And there's the dramatic turn from Mr. Tallez.
