The weekend came and I roll my eyes at the sight of my friends hugging and kissing their lovers. Call me bitter. It does suck to be the only single in the group but being single also has its perks. As planned, we were on our way to a resort. I could've taken my father's car but driving didn't sound right when I can third wheel and sleep in the back of Brandon's car. I just needed to put my headphones on so I don't hear Yuri and him baby talk like I'm not here.
I put some music on, laid myself down with my legs lifted. Closing my eyes took me back to the night where we decided to go for a drive late night. What could have been if Leo was here? Would I be in his car?
"Let's settle our things first then meet up at the lobby. Let's have lunch together," Jacob suggested.
"Yeah, let's do that," Yuri agreed.
"I don't think I'll be having lunch. I had some sandwiches on the way," I told them. "I'll check the beach instead."
"That's why I told you not to eat all of it!" Yuri twitched her upper lip.
"You can still join us," Merida stated.
I smiled diligently. "It's fine. You guys enjoy your lunch."
Before they could say anything, I turn around and started walking away. The receptionist says my room was in the second floor. The rooms had surrounded the big pool, they have a bridge in the middle, some stone designs, an outdoor jacuzzi pool at each side. They also have slides in the kids pool area and some swings.
I took out my phone and took a photo of the place. The sky was in it. Beautiful.
As I got inside, I frown at how spacious it was. I told them I'm getting a single bed but I think they've got me the queen size.
"Oh, well!" I shrugged and jumped in. "Ah! It's so soft and comfy!"
The bed had me so good that I woke up in a dark room. Groaning, I reach for my phone on the side table. My eyes grew big. It was already 7:00 PM! I abruptly sit up and checked the messages I had. I breath in sharply.
I was just typing my reply when I heard the door open and when I turned, the light was on, blinding me. Didn't I lock my door? Who the heck--
My jaw dropped. I must be dreaming!
"Did I open the wrong room or..." He was as confused as I am.
Wait the minute!
"Why are you even here?!"
Leo's sweet smile plastered on his face. "The picture you sent me was pretty. I thought I should enjoy the view too. Yuri said she had reserved me a room if I wanted to come in secret. The receptionist gave me this room number and key card."
I looked down, my forehead creased. Then that explains why my room was as spacious and luxurious as this when I wanted a single small room.
"Hold it right there," I said, going over to the telephone and dialing the front desk. While I was on the phone, Leo was looking at me funny, just sitting on the sofa.
"So?" he asked as soon as I got off the phone.
"They said they were trying to contact the one who reserved the rooms. There were no more of the small rooms so they asked if they can just book this room and I believe Yuri wasn't paying much attention and said yes to this," I explained.
"Oh," he said calmly, leaning back comfortably. "I think we're going to share a room then. They did say they were fully booked."
I pouted at the thought that he was being chill with staying in the same room as me.
