Leo's POV
"I let you go for two days and one night but you still look like the earth had fallen on you," Dr. Kamiya commented as he checks my vitals.
"I was able to tell her I'm dy–sick but I can't get through her. I can't explain my feelings and I'm frustrated about it!" I sigh deeply. "How do I tell her that yeah I lover her but I couldn't cause I love someone else at that time?"
"Well tell her that exactly!"
"I sound like a jerk!"
"You sound more of a jerk if you don't clear her mind," Dr. Kamiya fires. He looks at me with raised brows and then lets out a sigh. "She's probably thinking you're still in love with that girl, Love."
"I no longer love Merida like that." I rolled my eyes at him.
"Fair enough. You don't call her Love."
"I was sure I'd love Merida until my last breath but Lisa, that witch has got me under her spell and I... I fell for it. Was it a mistake that I told her I'd wait? Now she's found me and my feelings grew so fast when she stayed with Kieffer!"
"Can you shut your mouth for a moment." Dr. Kamiya's feature clouded. "Your heart monitor goes up when you're talking about these young ladies. Be lonely for a sec!"
I quickly zipped my mouth and remained still as I could, staring at the ceiling. How did I even start loving her? Was it really her cries? Or maybe because of her glares? Then I remember the way she cares for Kieffer, the fact that she didn't give up on me. The way I can be myself with her. It painted a smile on my face.
Dr. Kamiya sighs as I finally hear the rapid tone of the monitor. I faced him and was met with murderous eyes. I swallowed hard.
The next day, Lisa came to visit me. I introduced her to Dr. Kamiya and had lunch together at the pantry. I'm a free patient. All the staff had known me by now.
"All those months, you were just here?" she asked, sipping on her yogurt drink.
"Pretty much," I answered.
"Don't you get bored?"
I let a chuckle, climbing down from the fenced edge of the rooftop.
"I'm not a prisoner. I'm free to go and come back. I have different roommates every week or so. Who gets bored of that?"
She softly nods her head and looks away. It's telling me she has thoughts in her head. "You can say it, you know. Thoughts clouding your mind."
"I'm going back to my university on Friday. I got a call..."
I won't see her for a while, is the first thought in my head. But of course, time don't freeze on Lisa. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people whose clock had slowed down.
"But if you want I can--"
"When I get the new lab results, I'll visit you right away." A faint curve on my mouth, striding towards her. With open arms, she hugged me and I wrapped my arms around her. "There, there," patting her head. "It's okay. It won't be long."
"Tell me what they say. I don't want you to leave without telling me ever again," she softly stated.
"I'll tell you. Don't worry."
We talked more about her university, about my life in the hospital. From the way I see it, she wants to know how much time I have but even that I don't want to answer. I am getting weaker and becoming greedy.
