Chapter 8 - I love you
*****Bones was the first one Ace and Eyeball saw when they stumbled back in the house, the morning sun shining through the windows.
"There you are." Bones spoke as he walked over to them. "Where's-"
His sentence stopped as both cobras stared up at him, their faces white and emotionless as Bones saw Ace's bloodied knuckles.
"Where's Taranis?" Bones spoke firmer, his anxiety rising.
Eyeball let his head hang as Ace could just about shake his.
Bones quickly shook his head. "Where is he?"
Ace and Eyeball split apart as the watched Bones quickly rushed out the house and over to the car.
"Oh boys your back!"
Hearing Genevieve's voice behind them, so cheerful and happy, caused both to crack.
Genevieve rushed forward as both dropped to the floor. Her hands went to both of them as she looked between them.
"What the hell-" Her sentence stopped as she she looked out the car door.
Bones was on his knees in front of the open car door as Genevieve saw tears falling from his face.
She looked between Ace and Eyeball as she quickly shook her head.
"No." She fired out harshly. "No it's not true."
Ace shut his eyes as the first tear fell down his cheek. Though him and Taranis hadn't always got on, he had sacrificed himself for him and Eyeball.
Genevieve's scream flooded the house as everyone came rushing into the hall.
The broken mother, though already on her knees, collapsed into Ace's arms. Her hands gripping at his shirt as she continued to scream and cry out.
Digger instantly pushed through them collapsed on the floor as he raced out to help Bones.
The pair carefully pulled Taranis's limp body from the back of the car as more of Genevieve's men came rushing over.
Taranis was lifted onto their shoulders as he was quickly carried into the house. Jack took over from Bones as he went down to Genevieve, who clung to Ace and him as her screams continued to ring through all their ears.
