Anna's P.O.V

George and I moved in the middle of the bed and sit facing each other, I grab his left hand and played with his fingers, we stayed in silence for a few minutes before I sigh and look at him. "I was nine years old when it happened." I started. "We were still living back in Gloucester that time. It was on the twenty ninth of April and we were supposed to attend my cousin's birthday party, but then I convinced my parents that I want to stay at home, because I hated that cousin of mine." I laugh.

"Why?" He asked.

"He pushed me off the swing." I huff making him laugh.

"Go on." He said, noticing my hesitation. I pulled him closer so our knees touch and took a deep breath.

Flashback

"Mommy, I'll be fine here." I whined and look at my brother. "Help me." I beg and saw him smile at me.

"Why not just let her stay mom? Marta is here with her and so is Gilbert." My brother said, referring to our housekeeper and her husband who is our gardener. Since Marta is a live-in housekeeper, my parents let them stay in one of the rooms downstairs. My mom look at James and then to me before she sigh.

"Fine, you can stay, but no funny business Anna." She warned and I just nodded happily. "We'll be back in an hour or two darling." She kiss my head before going downstairs where dad is waiting.

"When you get bored, because I know that you will be. No regretting not coming okay?" James said. "I'll hold onto mom's phone, just call her number." Just like mom, he kiss my head before going downstairs. I jump in happiness and run back to my room, I hopped onto my bed and turn the television on to watch Phineas and Ferb. Three episodes later, I can hear water splattering outside as heavy rain pour down from the sky. I stood in front of my window and watch as the sky lit up, followed by a loud thunder that always fascinates me. My brother always tells me that whenever there's lightning and thunder, it means God is angry. So, I look up to the sky and wonder what made him angry this time.

The light suddenly shut off making me gasp. I look around my room and I can only see fragments from time to time with the help of the lightning. Nonetheless, I wasn't scared, in fact, it made me happy.

A blackout while heavily raining outside is perfect.

I stepped out of my room and slowly made my way towards the stairs, I can see two lights moving around downstairs and Marta's voice asking her husband to check something at the back of the house. One of the lights disappear through the kitchen, I'm guessing Gilbert.

I was about to step down on the first step when someone knocked or more like pounded on the door.

"Goodness me!" I heard Marta exclaimed, minutes later I heard the locks click and as soon as she opened the door, three men burst in, one of them knocked her unconscious. I slowly stepped back until my back hits the wall, tearing up in horror. I grab the wireless telephone that was on the side table before I ran back to my room and closed the door carefully before locking it. I look around my room frantically, deciding where to hide before getting in the closet. I crouch down, trying to stop my hands from trembling.

I punch in my mom's number that was written at the back of the telephone and place it to my ear, peaking outside the closet from time to time, I can still see outside since the door is one of those doors that has gaps on them.

"It hasn't even been an hour, you're already bored huh?" My brother said, answering the call in just two rings.

"J-james." I said in a trembling voice.
