"Where have you been?" Samantha ask. We are in my office at the moment and she's been trying to dig answers on my whereabouts these past few days. I can't tell her I spent time with Anna, because she will surely ask if we're back together or what's the status of our relationship which I have no idea at all. I mean, I woke up alone on our bed this morning. I thought she's in the kitchen again but there was only breakfast on the counter and a note saying 'she's leaving first and that she didn't want to wake me up.' leaving me clueless and confused and disappointed.

Though she went in heat in my presence, that means she still loves me and that's all I need to know to get her back and I want her back ever since I laid my eyes on her again after not seeing her for five years. But before doing all that, I need to settle everything with Samantha first.

"Earth to George?" Samantha said, snapping her fingers in front of me.

"Sam, did you talk to your father?" I ask. I watch her intently as she avoided my eyes and smile nervously. "Sam."

"Okay, I didn't. It's hard to just come out, not that you would know." She said in annoyance. I sigh and rub my temple.

"You could come up with other reasons, like we broke up because I'm married or other reason that is believable."

"Like my father would believe that." She snort.

"But I am married!" I snapped. "I'm getting my wife back Sam and I can't do that if we're still in this pretend relationship." I look at her pleadingly.

"I'm sorry." She said and gently tap my hands. "The reason I came here is to invite you to a party my father is hosting this Friday, I promise after this we're done." She said and handed me an invitation card. "You can bring your wife too, I'd love to drown in her beauty again." She teases.

"Oh shut up. I'll tell your girlfriend you're having hots for my wife." I said making her gape at me. "I'll come, but please Sam, you better be true on your words."

"I promise." She said and raise her hand. "So, I'll see you on Friday?" I smile and nodded. "You'll bring Anna?"

"I'll ask her."

"Okay, then I'm off." She stood up and send me a flying kiss before leaving.

I lean back on my chair before picking up my phone and dial Anna's number. It only took about three rings before she pick it up.

"Daddy?"

"Hi love, how are you?" I ask, my mood lifting up just hearing my daughter's voice.

"I'm okay, I miss you." She said and giggle.

"I miss you too. Where's mommy?"

"She's here, do you want to talk to her?"

"Is it okay?"

"Yes, I'll give her the phone now. I love you." My heart melted.

"I love you too."

"It's me." I heard Anna from the other line.

"Well, hello stranger." I greeted making her laugh, making me chuckle as well.

"How are you?" I ask.

"I'm okay, how about you?"

"Same. So, listen uhm Samantha invited me to a party this Friday and I'm wondering if you want to go with me?"

"Samantha?" She ask.

"Yeah, she's uhh-"

"Your girlfriend. Is it really okay for you to bring me along?"
