"You've been in a very good mood lately sir." My secretary comments. I just arrive in the office and we're on our way to a conference meeting about expanding the shopping center.
"It's that obvious?" I ask, my smile widening.
"Yes. You always greet everyone good morning and for once, you didn't get mad at any of the employees." She says.
"Well, you know who to thank for that." I reply before walking in the conference room. "Good morning everyone." I greeted before taking a sit. "So,the meeting today is about the mall's expansion. Terry, you may begin." As soon as the planning manager stand up, the lights dim. I lean on my chair and look at the projector.
"Since we are thinking about expanding the mall, instead of making it bigger and wider, we thought about building a new shopping mall next to this one and put a big garden between them." He says, showing us a 3D blue print of the said new building and garden and I must say it does look nice. "But for us to do this, we need a space." He look at me nervously. "W,we thought of maybe we could take down the big apartment next to it since the other side is a public museum." I frown.
"We are not touching that apartment." I said firmly, making him look away from me. "What about the building at the back, what is it?"
"It's a big parking lot sir." He answer. Parking lot huh, we can't take that down. I tap my pen on the folder as I think of some ways. My phone vibrates in my pocket, but I ignore it.
"What about at the front of the mall? They are all restaurants right? What if we build the new one there and connect them with a bridge, of course the bridge is not only for them to pass on, we can put benches and flowers for the people to admire and for them to have more seats to take a break." I said making them all nod, but what caught my attention is my secretary answering the phone before going out. I don't know what it is, but I feel like something bad is going to happen today. I erase the thought out of my mind and look at the other board members again.
"I like the idea of that, but what about those restaurants?" One of them ask.
"I'll negotiate with them, don't worry. Terry, I'd like you to redo this presentation with the new building facing this one and the bridge, can y-" I was cut off when the door burst open and my secretary run towards me.
"Sir, sorry for disturbing you, but I just had a call with XXX Hospital. It's Anna." She said hastily. I jump from my seat and just ran towards the elevator. Oh gosh, I hope it's nothing serious. What the hell happened? Was she involve in an accident? I pace back and forth inside the elevator as it descend to the parking lot. I look at my phone and curse when I saw Anna was the one calling me awhile ago. The elevator ping and I immediately run towards my car and drive towards the hospital hastily. I ask the nurse where Anna is and she leads me to a semi-private room where Anna is sleeping. I thank the nurse and immediately run to Anna's side, she looks pale and there's a hot compress on her stomach.
"Hello Mr. Parsons." The doctor who just came in greeted, I recognize him as the Rowthorn's family doctor.
"Hello. How is she? What happened to her?" I ask.
"She's having an extreme menstrual cramps. She was in the pharmacy buying medicine when she fainted due to being in so much pain, it was the pharmacist that called 999. Now, menstrual cramps are normal, but it's not just the same for every woman. She's good to go when she wakes up, but make sure to put hot compress on her stomach and let her rest. This is a prescription of her medicine, make sure she drinks this." She explains and hand me the paper. I sigh in relief and look at Anna again.
"Thanks Dr. McFerlin." I said and shake his hand. He nods at me, before excusing himself. I stuff the paper in my pocket before dialing my secretary's number.
