The Halanteans are a maritime based civilization, some aspects of Halantean culture are similar to that of Hawaiian and other Polynesian cultures, the Halanteans live on the Island called Halantis, the Halanteans are gifted with the ability to breathe underwater and they have an emphasis on seafaring and are devoted in preserving the sanctity and beauty of the ocean, nurture of the sea creatures, and safeguarding the coral which they hold sacred and worship.
Part 1 culture.
Halantean culture is centered faring the ocean seas and discovering new sea creatures to nurture and protect; the Halantean are fiercely protective of the ocean's sanctity and nurtures its seas creatures and are wiling to start a war if coral were being harvested and or destroyed by mainlanders.
The Halanteans often swim in the ocean in their pastime or when they're making pilgrimages to the coral reefs.
The Halanteans wear only garment clothing that only covers their lower half and chest, (depending on the person's gender identity) they wear them because they're often swimming in the ocean and thus they make sure to wear clothing that won't weigh them down.
The Halanis Ohana monarchs wear the Mahiole (like the Hawaiian Mahiole of the same name) and the 'Ahu 'ula cape (like the Hawaiian 'Ahu 'ula of the same name) as they represent the nobility of Halanis Ohana.
The Halanteans care deeply for the sea creatures; they nurture and protect them like if they were their own siblings.
The Halantean funerals take place at the beaches where they place the bodies of their dead on the shore to get swept up by the tide and taken to the ocean.
Halanteans give birth to their young in the protected bays while submerged underwater.
Halantean weddings take place at sea cliffs, after the couple say their vows, they leap off the cliff and into ocean to symbolize their commitment and love to each other.
Part 2 physiology.
While they're appearance resembles that of a normal Mewman with olive skin and bright blue hair, but internally they're are adept for the ocean life and are hydrodynamic; they're able to swim fast in water, they are able to with stand depth pressure.
There are small hidden gills on their necks which giving them the ability to breathe underwater, and their bodies are able to handle varying pressure levels.
A few of members of the Halantean population are gifted with water based magic abilities which allow them to create waves and whirlpools; the most powerful of the magically gifted Halanteans are able to raise small tiny islands for Halantean ships to dock and resupply at.
Part 3 military.
the Halantean have an unrivaled expertise in ship building; the ships are manned by highly trained Halantean crews who's skills are like no other and manned by excellently trained soldiers.
