The Dragonfly kingdom is a kingdom founded by Asterid Dragonfly and her army after the Twistering exile spell sent them to the Magma mountains. For a thousand years Asterid's descendants would dedicate their strength and resources to waging wars against the Butterfly kingdom.
Part one culture.
The denizens of the Dragonfly kingdom would refer to themselves as Astridlians to honor the first queen of the Dragonfly kingdom, Asterid Dragonfly.
The fires and lava of the Magma mountains influenced some aspects of Astridlian culture.
Astridlians have domesticated Lava beasts as was beasts or as household pets. (the household pets are the size of a mini van) The Astridlians have created clothing from the hides of the Lava beasts, which are fire and lava proof.
The Astridlians are an industrious people.
The Astridlians cremate their dead.
Astridlian population engage in exercise activities to maintain strong bodies and engage in martial training in their youth and adulthood so that when a war breaks out, the Astridlian population can be battle ready and fight for the Dragonfly kingdom.
While Runica Dragonfly created the Astridlian identity, it would be her granddaughter, Inculcatia Dragonfly who would forge Astridlian culture into what it is today.
Inculcatia's reformation of Astridlian culture began when she was crowned queen, with her Grandfather Vonspire acting as royal regent, after her mother Axeandra Dragonfly died in the second Dragonfly war. Inculcatia had a great ambition for Astridlian culture to not just only be a militaristic culture, but also a culture centered around hatred against the Butterfly kingdom. To accomplish this goal, Inculcatia established a public education system to use as a tool to indoctrinate the Astridlian youth. Inculcatia would create a revisionist story of the Dragonfly Revolt where Asterid Dragonfly was the rightful queen of Butterfly kingdom and that Festivia usurped the throne from Asterid with the aid of the corrupt MHC and was corrupting Mewni and corrupting its peoples thanks to her despotic and hedonistic lifestyles. Forcing Asterid to take up arms and rally entire kingdoms in order to save Mewni and its peoples.
Inculcatia would also instill the ideas of superiority that the Astridlians are descendants of not exiles but of uncorrupted warriors who were not susceptible to Festivia's corruption and constantly improving, never succumbing to stagnation and decay. While the Mewman descendants of who those who supported Festivia were tainted with corruption and became stagnant.
Inculcatia would also abolish the written Mewman alphabet and create a new form of alphabet base on the moving motions of fire.
After ten years, Inculcatia's revisionist story, superiority ideas and fire based alphabet grew root into the minds of the Astridlians who would begin to see themselves as superior to Mewmans.
One day, one of Inculcatia's sisters, Fidemmria Dragonfly, was working on mining operation when a entrance to a long subterranean tunnel was discovered. Fidemmria went in the tunnel to see what was on the other of the tunnel. But after three days and reports from her sister, Inculcatia and a search party went into the tunnel. After a few hours, Inculcatia and the search party reached the other side of the tunnel and entered a massive cavern. Inculcatia and the searched party explored around the cavern, and after a few minutes they find a cliff overlooking a sea of lava with what appeared to be some sort of creatures made of fire hovering above it. And near the cliff was a pool of what appeared to be a liquid fire. Then suddenly, Fidemmria emerged from the pool of liquid fire. Inculcatia went over to Fidemmria to check if she was all right. When Inculcatia checked Fidemmria, there were no burns on her skin, but Fidemmria had glowing irises.
