Chapter 17

I sit up in the cockpit by myself thinking about my blaster coming into my hand. After who knows how long of staring blankly at my lap I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look up to see Qi'ra walking over to the copilot seat and sitting down. "Are you ok in here?"

"Yea, I was just thinking" I chuckle tiredly, turning my chair to face her.

"Were you thinking about you using the force?" She asks leaning forward in her chair, resting her arms on her knees.

"You saw that too? That wasn't just in my head?" I check, thinking I've gone crazy if I think I used the force.

"I watched the whole thing, I saw your blaster get pulled into your hand. You can definitely use the force" She explains with a small smile across her lips.

"How is that possible? I've never been able to do that before" I sigh running my hand through my hair.

"Maybe with the amount of times you've almost died, it's triggered it" She shrugs chuckling lightly while sitting up.

"Is that how it works?" I furrow my eyebrows at her.

"Well I don't know how it works, I'm not able to use it" She laughs rolling her eyes at me.

"I don't want this power.. I've never needed it before why do I need it now?" I sigh looking down at my hands. "I don't want to be some Jedi, I've heard about them. It's never interested me to be a Jedi." I groan leaning my head back on the chair.

Then I feel her hands grab onto mine, I look forward and see her squatting down in front of me. "You don't have to become a Jedi because you can use the force. Besides I don't think you're good enough with only pulling your gun to you from a foot away" She teases as a small smirk forms across her lips.

"Ok I got it, do you have a point? Or are you just making fun of me?" I lean forward laughing, she stands up grabbing my face and gives me a quick kiss.

"My point is. No one's making you do anything with these powers. But who knows they could possibly help us with missions when we start up again" She smiles dropping her arms back to her sides.

"You really think it'll be useful in missions?" I query, as she chuckles lightly.

"Yes I do, now I'm tired" She stands up straight, stretching her arms up above her head.

I think to myself for a moment before a mischievous smirk forms across my lips. I focus and wave my hand in front of her, "You will let me lay with you tonight."

She narrows her eyes at me, squinting them slightly. "You're not that strong with the force. Don't ever try that again" She says while grabbing onto my shirt, bunching it up in her hand.

"I won't I promise!" I laugh as she quickly lets go of my shirt. I flatten out where she bunched up my shirt and look up at her, "Can I come lay with you though?"

"I'd say yes.. but not after the little trick you tried to pull on me" She chuckles leaning forward giving me a quick kiss. Then she walks past me towards the back of the ship as I turn around in my chair.

"Wait I'm sorry! I want to sleep in the bed with you" I whine as she throws a blanket at my face.

"Not tonight" She winks at me then I watch her start to lay down, "Another night. Goodnight!"

"Fine! Goodnight" I grumble turning myself back around. I wrap the blanket she threw at me around my body and sit back staring out into space hearing RJ's footsteps approaching.

"Do we need gas?" He says hopping up into the copilot seat.

"Not yet. I'll get some in the morning" I yawn looking over at him beginning to feel exhaustion wash over me.

"I'm glad you're happy now Leo" He beeps looking away from me out into space.

"What do you mean? I've been happy, I have you" I chuckle tiredly.

"I know that. But now you're really happy" He turn over at me again. "Now you someone to love"

"I love you idiot" I roll my eyes at him chuckle wrapping my blanket further around my body.

"I love you too Leo, I just mean-" He starts but I put my hand up interrupting him.

"I know what you mean bud. Aren't you happy too?" I query turning my body in my chair to face him.

"Of course. I like Qi'ra, I think she fits in nice with our little family" He beeps happily as I smile softly over at him.

"I'm glad you think so. I'm going to head to sleep. Wake me if something happens ok?" I chuckle and yawn as he hops up now standing on the chair.

"Will do" He opens the little hatch once more bringing a small arm out and gives me a thumbs up.

"Thanks bud"

Hours later I've landed us on Tatooine to get us some gas and maybe look around for a little while. I went to get gas by myself while Qi'ra continued to sleep, it's been a long few days. I stand outside alone filling up the ship with gas when I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn around quickly putting my free hand on my blaster. "Whoa hey it's me!"

I see Qi'ra chuckling with her hands up in front of her in surrender. "God you scared the shit out of me" I sigh taking my hand off my blaster and turning back around.

"How'd I scare you that bad?" She giggles putting both hands on my back as I set the gas can on the floor.

I turn around seeing her smiling now with her arms crossed. "I was deep in thought when you came up. I also thought you were still sleeping" I chuckle placing my hands on her hips and pulling her closer to me. "How'd you sleep?"

"I slept good, probably would sleep a lot better in an actual bed" She smirks tilting her head to the side slightly.

"We'll go home soon" I lean down kissing her forehead. "Let's get RJ and look around for someone to make us some armor from the Beskar" I squat down grabbing the gas can and stand up straight as she watches me with a smile. "What?"

"Nothing. Let's get RJ" She chuckles lightly then walks back into the ship.

After we get RJ, I walk out of the ship grabbing Qi'ra's hand. We walk around with RJ right next to me as we look for someone who could make armor for us. "Leo!?" I hear a woman yell from behind us.

I turn around to see a familiar face, "Kyly!?" My old friend quickly throws her arms around my neck into a hug.

"It's been forever!" She exclaims as I chuckle nervously hugging her back with my free arm.

"It has! I didn't know you and your dad moved here" I swallow hard feeling Qi'ra burning holes in the side of my head with her eyes.

"We did! You should come say hi! I'm sure he'd love to see you" She says, taking a few steps back.

"Oh, sure we can take a few minutes and say hi" I rub the back of my neck feeling nervous as Qi'ra continues to glare at me.

I notice Kyly look down at RJ, "Hey little buddy! It's nice to see you again"

"Nice to see you again too Kyly, it's been too long" RJ beeps happily.

"Oh I'm sorry where are my manners, I'm Kyly! And old friend of Leo's" She smiles looking over at Qi'ra getting her attention.

"I'm Qi'ra" She says keeping it short sounding a little annoyed.

"It's nice to meet you. Let's go see my dad!" Kyly quickly kisses my cheek then starts walking away. I feel Qi'ra dig her nails into my hand for a moment before letting go and starting to walk away.

"Hey wait for me" I quickly follow after them.
