Chapter 24

I sit down wiping the sweat from my forehead with my shirt watching RJ checking out his new dagger Gil made him. "Are you liking how your armor is coming alone?" Gil chuckles walking over to where I'm sitting. 

"Yea! It's all looking great. Thank you again for doing this." I stand up smiling as he places his hand on my shoulder.

"Of course Leo. It's no problem at all. And don't worry about paying me this is on the house" He bows his head slightly with a gentle smile. 

"What? No I can't go about not pay you for this" I shake my head standing up from where I'm sitting. 

"It's not up for debate, I won't be accepting any payment from you." He pats my shoulder then walks back over to his work bench. 

"I really appreciate this." I say quietly, looking back down at RJ who's beeping happily. I look out of the doorway then back to Gil. "Do you still need my help?" 

"No I'm good for now. Need to go somewhere?" He looks over his shoulder at me.

"I need to go talk to Qi'ra. I think she's mad at me." I chuckle awkwardly.

"Then good luck, don't get knocked on your ass again" He laughs turning back to his work bench.

"Oh I probably will. I'll stop by the house to see if she's there. You coming with RJ?" I query watching as he puts his little dagger in his little compartment. 

"Yep! I'm ready to go!" He beeps jumping up wanting to ride on my back again. I pick him up helping him on my back and walk out of the shop towards Gil's home. A few minute walk later I'm at the house.

I walk in looking around, "Hello? Qi'ra are you here?" I ask waiting for her or even Kyly to answer. There's silence for a few seconds before I see Kyly emerges from her room. "Hey Kyly. Is Qi'ra here?" 

"Not anymore, she took a shower then left for the ship" She explains walking up to me with a smile. "Is something wrong?" 

"No. Well actually I don't know. I think she's mad at me" I shrug with a small sigh.

"Do you want to sit and talk about it?" She queries placing her hands on my arms with a soft smile.

"I don't really know if she is or not. Or if I'm just over thinking it." I frown slightly to which Kyly grabs my hand and leads me to their couch to sit down and talk.

Qi'ra's POV:

After sitting by myself in the ship I decide to check if Leo was done and back at the house. So I get up and make my way back over, looking around at the buildings and shops as I go. Once I get to the house I walk in and see Leo sitting on the couch with Kyly, while RJ beeps frantically at him. I go to announce my presence when the start speaking. "You've been nothing but sweet since you got here. I'm sure it's not you." Kyly says to him rubbing his arm as he just sits there.

"I need to talk to her about it" He kind of shys away from her and goes to stand up.

But Kyly grabs his hand having him sit back down. Maybe you should give her time, if she is mad or something." 

'What am I doing? I... I'm practically pushing him to her.' I think to myself still watching their interactions from the front door. 

Having enough of this I clear my throat, making my presence known. "Oh! Qi'ra! Hi" Leo stands up quickly and walks quickly towards me almost tripping and falling over himself. He stops in front of me taking a deep breath. "I actually need to talk to you." 

"I need to talk to you too." I smile causing his face to soften. 

"Hey RJ stay here while we talk ok? We will be back after" He turns to RJ who's beeping nervously.

"Don't worry I won't kill him" I laugh looking over at him to which he beeps in amusement. I motion Leo to follow me and walk out of the house back towards the ship. 

We get to the ship and head inside silently, once the hatch closes he turns to me and starts. "If you're mad at me, I'm sorry for whatever it is I did." 

"I'm not mad. Or well. I will admit I was mad earlier when we were training." I chuckle a bit.

"Yea I noticed. I'm going to have big ass bruises all over my body for days" He groans running his hand through his hair as I laugh.

"I'm sorry about that." I go to continue but he begins apologizing again.

"Well whatever I did to make you mad earlier I'm sorry. I don't want you to be mad at me... Partially because I don't want to keep getting my ass kicked." He says with a nervous grin. "So I'll make it up to you, I really don't want you to be mad anymore." He continues to be apologetic not letting me say anything.

So to make him stop I grab him by the shirt, pull him closer and kiss him. "Stop apologizing." I smirk slightly and let go of him. "I'm sorry I've been hiding my feelings from you. It's not because of you or anything it's... the same thing I felt years and years ago. But I'm tired of letting that run my life. Seeing you with Kyly, seeing how she acts. I realize don't want to lose you to someone else. I'm ready, I accept my feelings for you. And I want to be with you." I explain to him as he sits there quietly and listening intently. 

After a few moments of silence, a small smile forms across his lips. "That makes me really happy to hear that." He cups my cheeks in his hands and kisses me softly. "I mean it when I say you're the only one in the galaxy I want Qi'ra."

"You're the only one that I want too" I smile grabbing onto his wrists.

"Well then I think it's time we make it official. Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks with the biggest smile on his face.

"Yes" I laugh as he lifts me up and kisses me again. After a few minutes of hugging and kissing I pull back smiling. "We should head back."

"You're probably right. Any longer and RJ might think you actually did kill me." He chuckles and grabs my hand. I smile softly and walk out of the ship with him, walking side by side. As we approach the house we begin hearing a lot of commotion throughout the village. "What's going on?" We're about to hurry inside when Kyly comes running out in a panic. "Kyly? What's going on?"

"Pirates!"
