"School Meal Club, you guys stay here and take care of the girl while the rest of us look for Sana", Jihyo directed as they left.
"Where did you guys last see her?"
"We went to check out the rooms in that hallway over there. ", Momo pointed as she lead the way. "Then we headed back to the basement. I don't recall seeing her after that."
The girls ran towards the hallway and searched every room thoroughly. There was no sign of Sana anywhere. No matter how many times they called her name, there was never a response. They began tracing back in the direction that they followed to find any clues on Sana's disappearance.
"She couldn't have gone far from here".
"Where did you guys go after this?", Jeongyeon asked as she scanned the ground for any of Sana's belongings.
"We turned this way and headed straight back to the basement".
The girls searched desperately for Sana, praying that the worst has not happened. Just as they were getting closer to where they came from, Mina shone her flashlight into one of the rooms they were passing by. Something reflected back at her. She paused in her tracks and squinted her eyes to get a better look.
"What's wrong Mina?", Nayeon turned around to see Mina slowly entering the room.
The girls turned around and froze in place as they watched her. Mina signaled them to follow her as she slowly inched her way into the room.
"It's... It's Sana's phone!", Mina called out as she ran towards it to pick it up. The screen was slightly cracked and wouldn't turn on. The girls rushed over to see for themselves. A sudden feeling of fear hit them as they stared at the phone. Their throats tightened up as they stood there trembling in silence.
As they mourned quietly, they felt a slight presence nearby. They looked down and saw a shadow standing right at the doorway, flickering each time the lights did. The flickering made it hard for them to tell who it was. Slowly but surely, they turned around, expecting something to attack them. But what they saw brought them to tears. It was Sana, standing there silently, staring back at them.
"Sana! Where were you? We've been looking all over!", The girls ran up to her. But they immediately noticed something different about her. She had no expression on her face, and she looked a bit pale.
"Sana, are you alright? Why are you so pale?", Nayeon asked as they checked up on her.
"I'm... fine", she spoked quietly with an expressionless tone. She still had the diaries tight in her hand, almost like she didn't want to let it go. "Let's continue the ritual".
"What? But you said it was a trap". Momo sniffled as she wiped her tears.
"I must've made a mistake..."
"But the diar-"
"I said I made a mistake!", Sana exploded as she cut off Momo.
The girls were frightened. Sana had never been like this before. She left the room and headed towards the basement. They followed behind her as she waddled her way back, swaying from side to side, almost collapsing on each step.
"Should we ask her what her name is?". Chaeyoung squated down, trying to take a peak at the girls face.
"Yeah we should", Dahyun crouched down and scooched over to the girl. "Hi, I'm Dahyun from Twice! Do you know Twice?", Dahyun said cheerfully.
The girl had no response. Dahyun gently parted the girls hair to get a better look at her face. She had very droopy dark eyes. Her face was expressionless, yet she seemed very sad. Dahyun took a look at her clothes and noticed she was wearing an outfit with the orphanage logo on it. She took a closer look and spotted a small name tag on her shirt. She moved the girls hair to the side and gasped as she read the name.
