BROOK

I walked down from my dorm to the parking lot. Today I decided to go out a little earlier and then walk to work since it's not that far away anyway.

But once again the plans get crossed, like every day. I saw the stalker in the parking lot leaning against his car. "I didn't know you smoked?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Wow. No, What are you doing here? Go away? It's getting better and better between us." "Don't imagine this. I was just asking." I didn't even want to start a conversation with Logan, so I walked the path that leads to campus as planned.

"If you want to walk, at least wait." I looked over my shoulder at Logan, who locked his car and ran to me, then walked next to me.

"Aren't you bored? This entire stalking?" Logan gasped, slightly stunned as if I was just implying the whole thing and not stating facts.

"I'm not stalking you, if I were stalking you I would know where your dorm is, and be at your door every day. But I'm not there that often, because I have a life too." "Oh really? Doesn't seem so to me." It's hardly that I don't see Logan in a day.

It really annoyed me at first, but now I don't know what to think. I'm getting used to seeing and hearing him every day. The words I say become everyday life.

It's so weird that I'm already beginning to accept that Logan is in my life. It gives me goosebumps all over my body. "Nah, sometimes I go to a practice like.. Hockey I think. I also learn from time to time. But then only if I have 10 minutes to spare."

Logan wants to be funny, and it actually works because I manage a small chuckle. "Then it looks like you have to go." "I actually have time today, lucky you." I rolled my eyes.

We arrived at the campus and also at my place of work. Logan sat at his table in one place again. I did my job, which is why I came here. "Hey. I need a review of the book. Is this worth reading?" Logan was standing next to me with a book about the human mind.

"Do want someone to specialize more in biology?" I picked up the book. I've read it before. It wasn't the best of all, a lot of little and also pretty obvious information. It doesn't really go into the topic.

"Yes, something like that. So is the book good?" "No, it's not." I started walking, thinking that Logan would walk behind me without having to look. I stopped by the medicine shelf.

I put the book I was holding back in its place and then picked up one of the best I've read since I've been here.

"It's pretty informative and written in a way you'll understand." I smiled lightly out of respect. "Good to know." so Logan walked away from me.

It's almost over, I'm still doing the last errands, and this time I'm trying to get everything ready, so I don't have too much to do tomorrow. I often went up and down the stairs, as I could only pick up two books.

My hands were held tight as I was about to get back down. A book appeared in the corners of my eyes, on my right side. I looked down and Logan's dark eyes looked up at me from below.

"Thanks." I picked up the book and put it on the shelf. "I've been here most of the day. Your eyes weren't even on me." "Because I'm not looking at you." What does he think I'm doing here?

I'm here for work and not to gawk at him when I have a whiff of time. "You were in a different mood this afternoon." "Logan, I don't have time to give you my attention. I'm busy."

"Then I'll help you." I went down the ladder and wanted to take the three books from Logan as I don't want any help from him, but he turns around like a little boy and pulls the books away from me.

"I can manage it on my own." "No. So where are the books supposed to go?" I stood there still, hoping Logan would just let it go. "Then I'll find it myself." Logan disappeared with the books, to another department. I exhale heavily and just got on with my work.

I don't know, but getting help from him really isn't a bad idea. I'm only saying the opposite because I probably don't want his help. I don't want anyone's help because I know I'll make it on my own somehow. Whether it's hard or easy, I can handle it.

"Why do you work here?" "What?" I put in the next book, which Logan did after me. "Why do you work in the library? I mean, does your back don't hurt?"

"I work here because I like books and I get more information for free. I didn't even think about the back pain."

"Oh really? Don't you think five years into the future before you do anything?" I raised my eyebrow and picked up the next three books.

"Yes, that's true, but that was 3 semesters ago. I didn't really think about it at the time." "How did you think?" I thought for a moment as I uttered the three words impatient, unmotivated, and lazy.

"Strict, stubborn Brook Sanchez was lazy?" "Don't pretend you know me. You're just stalking me." Logan gives me a bemused look.

"I'm not stalking you." "You do." "If you wouldn't ignore me and give me a chance, I wouldn't do it all this."

"I won't give you a chance." Again, Logan grinned to himself. He's been doing this so many times that I'm beginning to understand what they're mean.

We finished. I grabbed the cart and pushed it into storage, where I finally got changed to go home.

Logan is waiting for me in front of the library. With a coffee from Lay's. We started walking. I really don't understand the whole thing. Everything Logan does, says, or makes. I've told him so many times that I won't do anything with him. No chance, no matter what he tries, and still he doesn't give up.

"Why are you doing all this? Why do you want me to give you a chance?" I asked, because no matter which brain cell I use, I can only get the right answer from Logan himself.

"I can't answer your question." He can't? "How can you not?" "Because I don't know myself. I think my ego? Or just because you're interesting." That's surreal. All those words, Logan says. It's like his twin brother, who was missing, is playing him, even though I don't think he has one.

"Do you have a lost twin brother playing as you?" Logan burst out laughing. "I'm serious because this doesn't make any sense." "Does it have to make sense?"

"For me, it is. I'm a scientist, everything makes sense." "Of course it does." I smiled lightly. I like the conversation between the two of us, it takes away the time faster on the way to my dorm, and it's enjoyable.

"Smile more, I like to see your smile." And now it was gone. I felt a little warmth on my cheeks in the cold air.
