BROOK

My hands immediately got warmer when I get served the warm cappuccino. I had my hands tucked into my long sleeves and cupped my palms around the cup.

Day by day it's getting colder in Toronto, which is just the best thing about Canada, as the snow that's getting heavier. I was just sitting at Lay's with Lowen because we found the time to spend together.

"I've got a due soon for my dress I started to make. You should come, so I have a model." Lowen told me, who was sipping her black tea. "I don't know if I have time. We're going try testing soon, and my head is somewhere else right now." "I see. I'm lucky to even get you time today. Even though I imagined this day a little bit differently."

Lowen pretends that Lay's is a rancid and filthy rathole, but it's really cozy. It's nice to have a café that only serves on the campus of the Nolan university. The warm light that lets you relax, as well as the fairy lights that decorate the huge window.

Wooden tables and chairs with soft blankets and cushions. "It's not that bad." She rolls her eyes. "Of course not. But next time we'll definitely go into town. They've already put up the big Christmas tree in the city center and the market is open next week." All this imagination and food made my mouth water.

The treat that hits the market that comes to Toronto every Christmas. Wine, cocoa with marshmallows, cookies, gingerbread, waffles, candied apples, and roasted almonds. God, they're always so delicious.

When I wanted to make them myself, they tasted so bitter that I gave them to Lowen, who devoured them without even refusing.

"I'm in." "I thought so." smiled the blonde hair girl with the hat on her head. I was drinking from my cup when Lowen started talking about her roommate. The drama did so well that I hardly wanted to leave. "She's been so weird for a few days. Rejecting, you know? Then when I found out that Stella, some rumors I heard, that she dating Professor Jensen's son."

I raised my eyebrows. "The geography professor?" she nods and then puts her hand on my forearm. "Hold on now. She didn't just do it because she was bored or something. She did it out of revenge. I noticed that she failed Professor Jensen's course." my gaze turned to confusion.

"What does the son have to do with it?" if you have a problem with someone, then clarify it with them as well. Don't just get others involved. "Well, think about it. She wants to pay Professor Jensen back with his son. I don't know if that's true, and I haven't really seen any signs of it, but apparently, she's pregnant."

I almost choked on the last sip of my coffee that was left in my cup. I grabbed the napkin and wiped away the light drips that came out of my mouth in shock.

"She's pregnant?" "They say so." I didn't know what shocks me more, that she used her professor's son or that she was even pregnant, but that's just a rumor. However, that can also be true.

Do you really have to take this risk just for an act of revenge? It's really silly. We got up from the table and brought the empty cups to the counter. When Lowen and I walked out of Lay's. I couldn't keep my mouth shut about the situation Lowen just tell me.

I gave my opinion on it, which made Lowen laugh as we stopped. "Okay, I have to go now. I'll keep collecting drama, and you'll tell me about Logan next time." I was about to disagree because what happened the last few weeks was just a nightmare.

I didn't want to believe it myself. The questions and also the deeds that happened, all that. I somehow don't want to say it because then it seems so real, becomes so real. I saw Lowen leave me. My direction found the way to the lecture by Professor Enders.

But today I really have to force myself to go there somehow. I feel less interested in the lecture and more in what I have as a project. On the one hand, because that's what's interesting and what's fun, and a lecture by Professor Enders? It's the opposite.

I really don't feel like it, but unfortunately, there's no way around it. He's my professor, after all, and there might still be hope because he got a better offer somewhere else.

I went to my standard seat. My eyes caught Sebastian, which is actually much earlier than I got here. "The fact that you're here before me, is really better than seeing a shooting star in the sky." He glances at me.

"Don't overdo it." I smiled slightly and sat down. My stuff luffed out of the backpack as Sebastian and I were talking about the football game. It looks like our university is on the verge of being one of the best teams in all Canada out of all Universities. This is really impressive considering this is quite a few students.

Mr. Enders came in. Just the sound of his voice made Sebastian roll his eyes. With him, the hope that Enders wouldn't come because he was too late. "Sorry for the delay. I had problems with my car."

He put his things and the books he was carrying in front of his chest on the table, which was heard a loud bang. "We'll start right away. So for the next task, I want you to present a topic I'll give you with a group of two people. I've already puzzled the people together." That can't mean anything good.

But Enders isn't stupid, he knows who gets along well with whom, and we are so determined in our selection. He pulled out his list, which was in his briefcase when he screams the group's out loud. "... Then we have Fane Crowford who will be working with Brook Sanchez. You two have topic snow. You have to give me a very executive presentation that doesn't tell us about the snow in general but about the blizzards in different regions and the snowfall in general." I wrote down the things that Mr. Enders said, and on the one hand, I thought about what to do with the topic.

It's just not the best topic I want to do. It can be as destabilizing and specific as possible, but Fane and I can also be so wrong that Enders choose not to show mercy, giving us a bad grade.

But Fane is not a bad partner, I guess. It'll work out somehow. The harder it is, the better practice it is to get used to. I'm even lucky with him because he lives alone and also moved out of the athletic boy's house. Just in time for me. "Here I have some books for those who need some for the search. Get them after the lecture. So let's get started." Ender's loud voice told us the page to turn to, and the lecture began.

It didn't take long until it was finally over. I quickly packed my things to get down to Mr. Enders's desk as soon as possible and pick up a book that will help me with the information, somehow. I held the one book in my hand and turned it over. Next to me were other students who were faster than me on the desk.

I was reading the back when someone next to me picked one up as well. "I actually thought we'd be in a group together." I looked from the book to Logan, who was also holding one. Then I continued to look at mine. "We're not in a fantasy world." "No we are not, but there is destiny and this one doesn't disappoint me."

I rolled my eyes. "There's no such thing as destiny. And if there is one, then it looks like it has disappointed you." I heard Logan chuckle lightly. I took the book I felt was good for the information and put it in my backpack. "Why are you laughing?" "Well, maybe fate was disappointing but also helped me."

I raised an eyebrow. "Brook." I turned to Fane, who was also now standing next to me. "Yes?" "Let's do the presentation in my place instead of somewhere else. I'm late from training, and it wouldn't cause us any problems then." I nodded.

It is not a problem for me. As long as we get it done quickly. I might as well go to Fane's dorm. Suddenly I felt Logan's presence in my ear. "Fane is my roommate. I'll see you at my place." My lips lined up. Fane lives with the boys again??? That's a problem.
