What kind of mission is this?

Hawkeye pulled up to the Hard Deck, he sat there and pondered for a second. "Here goes nothing." He muttered as he stepped out of his car. He saw that Rooster was already here. He walked into the Hard Deck, Dove and Glory spotted him then walked towards him.

"What the hell took you so long?" Glory questioned him. "Hey, I am sorry that wanted to see my dad." Hawkeye replied back. "I bet he's thrilled to see you back in action." Dove said. "Yeah, so thrilled." Hawkeye said sarcastically which resulted in her rolling her eyes in response.

They walked over to the pool table, to witness Rooster to gutted by a cue. "Damn that had hurt Roost." Hawkeye said which caused both Rooster and Phoenix to look over at him. "Hey man!" Rooster said as he greeted his childhood best friend. Phoenix smiled a bit. "Great to see ya! Nice to you again Phoes." Hawkeye said with a slight smile. "Huh, not quite an asshole you were at Top Gun, well your first week." Phoenix said. "Nope." Hawkeye replied.

Phoenix looked over his shoulder and spotted Dove and Glory. "Hey Dove and Glory, it's great to see you both." Phoenix said to the both of them. "Great to see you as well." Dove said as she walked over to the table more.

"Hawkeye is that you?" They heard Hangman and Phoenix groaned a bit along with Dove. "Yeah it's me, don't cream your pants Bagman." Hawkeye fired back. Dove and Glory's eyes widen a bit but Phoenix and Rooster were surprise. Hawkeye after Top Gun became more blunt, not to take anymore bullshit from anyone. "Relax relax." Hangman said before he looked at Rooster.

"And Bradshaw, As I live and breathe." Hangman said as he made his way over and taking the stick from Bob. Dove rose a brow at him, while Hawkeye kept eye contact.

"Hangman, you look good." Rooster said.

"Well, I am good Rooster. I'm very good, in fact I am too good to be true." Hangman said.

"So... anybody know what this special detachment all about?" Payback asked. "Oh mission's a mission. They don't confront me..." Hangman said. "Hope not." Dove said with a brow rose and Phoenix playfully hit her shoulder. "Well What I want to know is, who's going to be team leader and which one of you all has what it takes to follow me." Hangman said.

"Hangman, the only place you'll lead anyone is early grave." Rooster said. Fanboy made a remark. Hangman looked at Phoenix then stood in front of Rooster and Hawkeye stood there, glared at Hangman.

"Now anyone that follows you... just gonna run out of fuel but that's just you ain't it Rooster, your snug on that perch, waiting for the right moment that never comes." Hangman said. "I don't think you remember what you did last time you flew, because do you need reminded and besides I don't think you are ideal choice to be leading a group of us." Hawkeye said.

"Like you'll be leader." Hangman said. "Hmm who knows but you don't see me, coming up in here acting all cocky now do you?" Hawkeye questioned him and he didn't answer just walked away.

"Well he hasn't changed." Phoenix said. "Nope." Rooster and Hawkeye said together. "Sure hasn't." Rooster added. Rooster looked at Hawkeye and Phoenix then walked off.

"Reminder, I might be a pretty boy, but I am certainly not an asshole like Bagman over there." Hawkeye said to Phoenix , she chuckled. "Now if this were Top Gun, I would call you a liar but now, not so sure." Phoenix said. "Believe me when I say, I am not that asshole I was." Hawkeye said. "I'll give you a chance." Phoenix said which caused the man to smile at the woman.

"Check it out, more patches." Fanboy said. Hawkeye looked over along with Phoenix. "That's Harvard, Yale, Omaha... shit that's Fritz." Payback said. "What the hell kind of mission is this?" Glory questioned. "That's not the question we should be asking." Dove commented. "Everyone here is the best there is, who the hell their gonna get to teach us?" Phoenix added.

Rooster unplugged the jukebox, Hawkeye chuckled a bit. "That's old Rooster for ya." Hawkeye said.

"Hey Phoes" Hawkeye called out and pointed at Rooster on the Piano. Phoenix smiled and looked back at everyone. "Hey Guys." Phoenix said as she set down her stick and followed Hawkeye.

"Alright Rooster just like old times?" Hawkeye said. "You know it." Rooster replied as he gave Hawkeye a quick fist bump before he started to play.

"You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain." 

"Too much love drives a man insane. you broke my will, but what a thrill."

"Goodness gracious, great balls of fire!"

"I laughed at love 'cause I thought it was funny."

"But you came along and you moved me honey!"

"ALRIGHT EVERYONE! SING YOUR DAMN HEARTS OUT!" Hawkeye  exclaimed. "WHOO!!" Glory exclaimed.

"I've changed my mind, this song is fine. Goodness gracious, great balls of fire!"

"Kiss me baby. Ooh, that feels good baby. Hold me baby. I wanna love you like a lover should."

"You're fine, you're so kind." Phoenix sung. Hawkeye smiled at the woman. "Alright, Alright." He replied and she playfully hit shoulder which they both giggled.

"I'mma tell the world that you're mine, mine, mine, mine!" Everybody sung loudly

"I chew my nails and I twiddle my thumbs. I gettin' nervous, but it sure is fun."

"Come on baby. you're driving me crazy. Goodness gracious, great balls of fire!"

Rooster goes on with a piano solo to the song. Hawkeye remembered back on his childhood how he and Rooster used to see this so loudly in the house plus it was like this in high school. "You alright over there?" Phoenix asked him. "Yeah, just thinking." Hawkeye said which caused Phoenix to look at him. "Didn't take you to be a thinker." Phoenix said, which Hawkeye rolled his eyes then Phoenix smiled at him. Then Hawkeye thought "That smile." Then comes the singing again.

"Kiss me baby. Ooh, that feels good. Hold me baby. I wanna love you like a lover should. You're fine, you're so kind! I wanna tell the world that you're mine, mine, mine, mine!" everyone sung.

"I chew my nails and I twiddle my thumbs. I gettin' nervous but it sure is fun. Come baby, you're driving me crazy. Goodness gracious, great balls of fire!" Everyone howls as they finished and cheer.

Then Rooster started to do his dance as everyone cheered his name, Dove looked over in the window and saw Maverick, who had sadness across his face which cause her to look at both Hawkeye and Rooster who was just goofing off. She knew about the history that those two had with the man even Glory had some history with Maverick.

Maverick waved at Dove then walked away. She sighed. "Something tells me... tomorrow is going to be interesting." Dove muttered before she walked away to talk to Payback and Fanboy.
