Tuesday Evening

You've been home about an hour. You cooked yourself a quick pasta dish and  were now chilling out on your sofa. You have only been at your new job two days, but god it's stressful. The new boss is relentless. However, there was a guy in the office that had caught your eye. He worked in a different department but had come over to introduce himself on your first day. His name was Oli, and today he'd asked for your number, which cheered you up.

*Knock on the door*

I've just bloody sat down! You thought, as you got back up from the sofa and went to the door to open it.

"Ben!" you said with a huge smile on your face.

"Ella", he replied, with his big, dimpled smile.

You stepped aside so he could walk through. "I thought you'd end up being too busy to see me" you replied, wrapping your arms excitedly around him.

Ben wrapped his arms around you and rested his chin on your head "I will always make time for you. How could I go away for another couple of weeks without seeing you?"

You looked up at him, staring into his eyes for maybe a second too long, then quickly looked away. You felt your cheeks going red again. "Would you like a cup of tea? Probably best not to have any alcohol the evening before your flight. Especially after Friday night. My hangover was awful, I'm sure yours was too" you rambled on, breaking the hug and rushing to the kitchen.

Ben looked at you oddly, wondering why you seemed flustered. "A tea would be lovely, thank you."

You both sat down on the sofa with your freshly brewed teas.

"So, how's the new job?" Ben asked.

"Boss is a bit of an arse, but so far so good."

"Well I'm afraid you're never going to get a boss as great as me again".

"Yeah, I think I've made a mistake. Can I have my job back?"

"No, you can fuck off, too late now" he teased.

"I don't actually want it back anyway. I've potentially met the love of my life."

You swear you saw a wave of disappointment flash over Ben's face, but you couldn't be sure. Before you could even blink, he was back to his big, dimpled smile, so you probably made it up in your head. Anyway, he's married to his 'soulmate' and 'couldn't be luckier', as he's told you way too many times.

"What potential love of your life number is this?"

"Shut up!" you laughed. "I'm just unlucky in love ok. He asked for my number today, and he seems so funny, and kind. Also, he's hot"

"As hot as me?" he joked, and you rolled your eyes.

"So big-headed."

"Me? Never. Anyway, when's the date?"

"Well, he hasn't actually asked me on a date yet. But obviously I'll keep you updated on everything. Will you be my maid of honour at our wedding?"

"Absolutely no way."

"What? Why not?"

"I'm not wearing a dress, I look too good in a suit" he grinned.

You laughed loudly. "Fair enough, I will reluctantly agree to that. I don't want to boost your ego too much though".

"Boost my ego? Trying to get a compliment out of you is like getting blood from a stone!" He laughed. "Have you got any photos of this funny, kind and hot guy? I want to see what he looks like...just out of curiosity".
