Secret Romance (IM5 Colton)

Chapter 3.

*Saturday, September 8th 2012*

*Cole*

Dalton and I walked down to his house and he slowly opened the door. His parents and both of his sisters were sitting on the couch and I knew that Dalton was getting nervous. I secretly touched his hand and I got a warm feeling where I did. Dalton looked at me and I gave him a reassuring smile. He smiled back and I felt my heart race a little.

*Dalton*

Cole smiled reassuringly and I felt my heart race. I smiled back and then looked away from him.

Dalton: "Uh, mom, dad?"

Everyone looked over at us and I started getting really nervous. I looked back at Cole and leaned over to him.

Dalton: "I can't."

Cole: "Please? For me? For us?"

I looked at him and nodded slightly.

Dalton: "I'd do anything for you."

Cole blushed and it made me smile.

Dad: "Are you going to tell us something or just whisper?"

I looked back at them and played with my fingers.

Dalton: "I, um, I have something to tell you."

Mom: "Yes?"

I grabbed Cole's hand and held it behind my back. He ran his thumb along my hand and it calmed me a little bit.

Dalton: "So, last week, when we were shooting the Zero Gravity video, I realized something..."

Mom: "What is it honey?"

Dalton: "I have feelings for Cole..."

I looked down at my feet, too scared to see their facial expressions.

Dad: "What kind of feelings?"

Dalton: "I like him."

Cole squeezed my hand and I laced our fingers together. I looked up slightly and saw my parents sitting quietly. I looked back down and felt my heart break slightly. They don't accept it... I felt myself being pulled into a hug so I let go of Cole's hand. I looked up to see Becca and Sophie hugging me.

Becca: "It's okay Dalton."

Sophie: "We understand."

I felt relief rush through me and I hugged them back. They pulled away and my mom grabbed me.

Mom: "It's okay honey. I don't mind that you feel this way. Just as long as you're happy."

I hugged her and smiled. She pulled away from me and I looked over at my dad. He was just sitting there with a blank expression on his face. He suddenly got off the couch and left the room, which broke my heart. I ran upstairs to my bedroom and slammed the door shut.

*Cole*

Dalton ran up the stairs and I heard a door slam shut. My heart broke for him so I went up after him and slowly opened the door. I saw Dalton lying on his bed, crying his eyes out and it really hurt me. No one has ever seen Dalton cry before because he doesn't like to, so this was a bit of a surprise for me. I walked over to him and took him into my arms. He wrapped his arms around me and sobbed into my shirt.

Cole: "Oh Dalton..."

Dalton: "H-he doesn't a-accept C-Cole."

Cole: "I know baby, I know..."

I gently stroked his hair and rubbed his back. I felt his tears soaking through my shirt but I didn't care because I like him and he's upset so I'm going to comfort him. He calmed down a little after a while and stopped crying.
