CHAPTER 40 - QUARRELS

Alyssa, Mika and Beatriz were currently in the kitchen Alyssa was preparing dinner while Mika helped. Beatriz was making herself a drink.

"How was school today sweetie?" Alyssa asked.

"Fine." Beatriz replied.

"And soccer practice?"

"Fine." She replied again.

Beatriz had her back to her mothers while she made her drink so she wasn't looking at them as she spoke.

"I saw Maddie on my drive home tonight...how are things going with her? Do you guys speak much anymore?" Alyssa asked.

"Yes." Beatriz replied.

Mika knew that Beatriz wasn't in the mood with her short answers and not even bothering to look at them while she talked.

"How's Jhoana's arm? We've been so busy lately that we hardly get to see the Lazaro-Galang's even though they live right next door." Mika then asked.

Beatriz turned around and looked at her Ma.

"She's good, her arm is slowly healing she doesn't need as many pain killers anymore which is good. Tita Dennise made Tita Vic buy her a kitten." Beatriz giggled.

Mika couldn't help but smile just thinking about the look on Vic's face during that ordeal. She was so whipped.

"What did they call it?" Mika asked.

"It's nameless at the moment. Tita Dennise and Dion can't decide on what is the right name for him." Beatriz smiled.

"So how are things between you and Jhoana?" Alyssa asked.

Beatriz turned back around and finished making her drink.

"Fine." She replied.

"Well are you two thinking of getting together? I mean you both have feelings for each other and your both single." Alyssa added.

"I don't know." Beatriz replied.

Before Alyssa could ask anything, else Beatriz turned around with her drink.

"I'll be in my room." She informed them before leaving the kitchen.

As soon as she was gone Mika turned to her wife.

"Is she alright?"

"What do you mean?" Alyssa asked.

"She seemed a little...off. Don't you think?"

"I don't know...maybe...I guess." Alyssa replied.

"Oh, remind me to get some more beer for when Jovee comes." Alyssa added.

"Don't worry about it I can pick some up on my way home tomorrow." Mika replied with a smile and received a kiss from her wife.

When the three Lazaro-Galang's came home from the zoo with a new family member, two out of the three were ecstatic...the other one...not so much. It was a tiny black and white kitten with big bright eyes. Jhoana was a little surprised by the new addition.

"We need to give him a name, he can't be nameless for too long. Otherwise the other cats will tease him." Dion informed.

"What about George?" Dennise suggested.

"Or Buggies." Dion suggested.

"No." Dennise just shook her head.

Dion sighed.
