I had a strange sense of relief the moment I looked outside. There was no single soul present today ready to mock and disgust me. The sky was gloomy all around like an intimation of something sinister about to come.
I take a deep breath and continue ascending the town, bringing me back to the dream, no, a nightmare that I just had last night.
I am aware that I am not ordinary like them, but being in that nightmare proves that there is something deeper than I thought.
Someone was calling my name, asking for help. Salvation is the word that keeps repeating in my head. I have no idea who or what they are. They just keep extending their arms like they want me to reach for them.
In the deep thoughts that I have, I just realized that I am already standing in front of a library.
My forehead creased at seeing it.
A library? When did this town build a library? So far as I am alive, there is no library in this place because everyone here is so obsessed with technology.
Not minding it, I was about to turn my back and continue on to my real destination when an old woman suddenly appeared, making me jump in surprise.
" Young lady, you are very much welcome here." A voice comes from the old woman.
My neck snaps up, I gaze at the old petite frame, and I frown, asking her if she's talking to me. I think this old woman hasn't heard the scoop about me. Everyone doesn't want to get on my way. The funny reason? I have a pair of sorrel-colored eyes that can see things not normally seen by others, and this has doomed my whole life to the deepest.
Even with my frowned face, the old woman's smile still hasn't left her lips, making me feel creepy.
It's already the right time for you to know your real name and nemesis.
My real name and what? nemesis? What is this old woman talking about? I chomp down a little on my bottom lip and laugh to myself. I do know that I'm the kind of person who is not normal, but this old woman? She is absolutely abnormal in this state, talking nonsense.
"I know who you are," she said.
I turned my back and left this unknown and creepy old woman because it wasted my time with her presence in front of me.
"Where are you going? You need to know before it's too late. " She snaps, a sense of confusion coating her words.
I blink slowly. My feet turn into the ground. I position myself to look at her again. My eyes lazily search for hers with a deep, deep breath. "It smells like November," I murmur. " Is it November? because it looks like you don't know me and you decided to put your November joke on me.
The lenses of her eyes are less flexible, meaning that she has reached her old age. Though I do not understand why she doesn't have a soul. I took a step back and my eyes widened in astonishment, but something in my chest felt the sudden long lines of fear and questions.
"What?"
"It smells like November," I answer again, a waggish pull at my lips when a deep laugh wants to explode in my stomach. "I used to love November."
The old woman staggers forward to grab me by my arm and tries to shake me to move and pull me to enter the eerie library.
She yanks my arm again before removing her hands from my arm, and she stumbles back like she just saw a ghost by touching me.
"Impatient, aren't we?" What did you see? Is it something frightening? I smirk to mock her.
The old woman gave me a frightened look and turned her back to me. As I gazed around the whole library, I saw the letters that were carved on the wall, and as I made my way near, something in my mind started to clink, and I could hear many voices that I had never heard before.
Redemption. Deliverance. Lifeline. Emancipation. Restoration.
The repeated words I can hear. I clutch my hair, wishing they would vanish from my mind. My head wants to explode, I want to cry, I can feel the sweat streaming down my head. I'm pleading with someone, the old woman, to save me from this.
I'm about to kneel on the ground, I felt the old woman touch my shoulder, pulling me to go back on my own self. "What happened?" What was that? Did you put something on me? I aggressively asked.
"You are really her. No wonder you have the divinity within yourself. " Can you not feel it? You already have a clue about yourself, and they are close, so close that they want them to take over this realm and the realm you belong in.
