Abhinav's pov:
Her laughter was the summer rain and the birdsong too. It was so melodious that every time I heard it, no matter the weather, the sun brightened. It was as if her sound lifted a veil from my eyes and allowed me to see the world more clearly. It's funny how laughter can do that, those honest rumblings of the soul.
"But, I'm sorry ha. I didn't know you were there at the door. I thought it was Malti Aunty. Otherwise, why would I call you Aunty?" She apologized again but, her laughter was what caught my eyes.
"It's fine. I knew that you said it unintentionally. I was just messing with you."
She smiled widely at me and straightened her face all of a sudden.
"Uh...actually, I wanted you ask you something." She looked a little nervous.
"What happened?"
"I've... I've been using your library lately. I am sorry I didn't ask for your permission before. But, can I use it?" Hesitation and anxiety was clearly visible over her pretty face.
Pretty face, huh? My subconscious mind intervened.
"Well, you should be sorry." Her face that had already fallen due to fear, lost its colour as soon as I said this.
"I'm sorry." She whispered, enough loud for me to hear.
"You should be sorry for thinking that you have to ask my permission for anything at your own place." She instantly looked up as soon as these words left my mouth.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that I'm really sorry for introducing you as a guest to everyone and if that's the reason you think that you need my permission to do anything, then no. It's not what I meant.
Actually, you have to get one thing Nisha. I'm not bragging about myself but, right now I'm one amongst the top leading businessman in India and also, in the world. I'm a known personality to almost every alert Indian citizen. I'm always in the eyes of media and have to be very careful when it comes to news.
If by any chance, it leaks in the media that I'm married and the situation in which we're married gets out in the news, then I'm not lying, it can create a huge blunder. For me and most importantly, for you. People out here won't think twice before going in depth of details and that won't come out good.
That's the reason, I didn't want anyone to know about our marriage. And, that was the only reason why I introduced as a guest to the flight attendant and the maids here. But, I promise as soon as I find a way to tackle this, I'll make sure to set everything right." She listened like a studious child listening to his teacher explaining something.
"It's okay. Actually, I was a little upset earlier. But, now that I know your point, it's completely fine for me. Anyways, what others think of me, it makes no sense to me. Its enough for me to know that you have been pretty clear to me about everything now and to know that you have been thinking about my safety too, that's more than enough for me."
Her pretty smile at the end was the assurance for me that it's going pretty well.
"You know, for the age of 20, you are pretty mature."
"Sometimes, age has nothing to do with maturity. The amount of emotional situations you've went through teaches you everything."
"See, that's what I meant."
"But, Malti aunty knows that I'm your wife." She said, as if that thought suddenly struck her mind.
"She isn't any outsider. We've known her since childhood. She was our caretaker whenever Mumma and Dad used to be out for some work. She is like a mother to me, Amu and Aarav."
