donghyuck's thought and fear of meeting mark again appeared as he had decided to portal back to earth.

he was scared that if he did so, more evil spirits will target the mortal whom he didn't even know much about. but nevertheless, he knew that his angelic instincts were kicking in. and for once he didn't hate it so much.

he suddenly had the urge to protect this mortal whom he used to not have a care about at all. but even if he did so, it doesn't mean that caring for mark can make him be with the mortal for a long time. staying with him will only make mark be targetted more.

"the more you keep thinking about it, the more flat your butt will be." jaemin said with an eye roll as the two were sitting in the younger's couch, being in each other's comfortable presence.

"i can't stop thinking about it."

"i already said i'll help you, hyuck. what's so bad about it?"

"you do remember what happens when you unleash that pure devilish powers of yours, right?" the devil paused for a few seconds before sitting back down, deciding to stay quiet as a sign of agreement.
"now we're talking."

"it doesn't mean that it won't work, you know that yourself."

"jaemin. i know you're just trying to help, and i know that you have pure devil blood that can help mark lee a lot. but i'm not risking you to die just to save someone i don't even know a lot about." donghyuck was right. he seemed to only think of mark as his job. as an angel job. it's just that he likes to think it that way as a devil. he doesn't want to be attracted to the mortal. he doesn't want to be near the mortal.

most importantly, he doesn't want to fall for a mortal whom will always be in danger everytime they meet. and he didn't want to be responsible for mark's sufferings.

"donghyuck..." the younger spoke, clearly showing humane expressions on his face just for his friend.
"let me help. i can do it. and if this means making you even less worried, i'll ask renjun for help. with us, your mortal won't be in danger and won't be targetted again."

"... my mortal?"

"you think i wouldn't notice? hyuck, your angelic eyes kept glowing around him. you know exactly what that means." jaemin smirked and chuckled loudly at his friend who groaned and got off the couch.
"dang, that flatass finally gained it's glory back."

"would you shut your damn mouth, jaemin? it's annoying like your fatass sitting on the couch."

"ouch, hyuckie. a thank you would've been nicer to someone who's willing to help you." the said devil rolled his eyes playfully.

"mr. lee, you're good to go." the professor sitting on his desk in front of the class called to the young man as he handed him a sheet of paper filled with a self-written essay.
"good job."

"thank you, sir." mark politely said and bowed a little before smiling his way out the classroom.

"dude you got an A+?!" a friend of mark's, yangyang, spoke excitedly while snatching the paper from the boy's hand.

"not surprising for me, mark is an ace in mr. sohn's class." another classmate named sungchan spoke up and closed his locker before joining them for a walk across the hallways.

"nah dude, for real i was suffering a lot in his class."

"mark you're literally perfecting all your english tests and quizzes in his class. your writings are phenomenal." yangyang chirped in, still with his excited tone hanging on his voice. mark truly was his role model.
