knowledge is greater than power, that's what donghyuck's father always told him. but he didn't agree. he thinks that both are needed to be the greater version of themselves.

when he woke up the next day, he decided to walk around the under to search for someone who might catch his eye.

however to his despair, none seemed to look promising enough to have an angel blood like he does.

moving on, donghyuck skipped his way through the cities on earth, not letting mark out of his room and told jaemin to look after the mortal in the mean time. again, donghyuck used his time not for his own good or happiness, but to save mark from being tortured again by the evil spirits.

"where the hell are you..." he mumbled to himself as he dismissed the thought that there were no other eye-catching person in that certain street.

until he saw a figure standing behind a bar, wearing an all black uniform with a gold metal name tag on the right side pocket of it.

"found you."

donghyuck's crimson red eyes were now glowing with a mix of rage and satisfaction. he had found him.

as he entered the certain bar the creature seems to be working in, he immediately made his way to him, catching his attention.

"... sorry, do i know you?" the chestnut-haired male replied with a confused expression written on his face.

"you probably don't. but i do know you, lee jeno."

"ohhhh is it because of my name tag? don't worry, many women do that to me and pretend to know me here when we never even met. it's the first time a guy has ever do-"

"cut the crap. did you do something to mark lee?" the fallen spoke in a harsh manner, approaching the bartender in a way that catched lots of people's attention. but he didn't care, he could just wipe their memories with one snap of a finger. so now his focus was on a certain angel named lee jeno, one that all creatures love, even if their devils or angels. but donghyuck hated him for that certain reason.

"mark lee? what do you mean, who even is that?"

"oh don't play dumb, lee. you definitely know who he is." donghyuck tightened his grip on jeno's collar. but surely it didn't faze jeno one bit.

"but we're both lees-"

"just answer the goddamn question, jeno." the angel groaned and rolled his eyes, slapping donghyuck's hands out of his grip.

"i told you, i don't know who mark lee is."

"how about the guy you gave the sight to? does that ring a bell in your head?" jeno froze at those words. he did remember him.

"oh... yeah that does. lee minhyung, right?"

"lee minhyung?"

"that must be his other name," the angel softly spoke to himself, "why? did something happen to him?"

"did something happen to hi- you really don't know?"

"well i don't have a telepathy with him so yes i don't know, donghyuck." jeno took a metal shaker to make another drink for an order. but while he was doing so, donghyuck huffed and had his arms in the air, snapping his fingers and there time stopped. everything around them froze except for the two creatures.

"now we can talk properly."

"fine." the bartender dropped his utensils and wiped his hands with a small towel, sighing while looking back at donghyuck. "what happened to him?"

"well since you gave him the sight, the poor mortal was wounded by a certain evil soul after being chased by it. you do know mortals are not like us, right? we can heal, but they can't."

"i do. but because of that, lee minhyung can know what is after him and will be informed of what he will face." the angel pressed, leaning forward in attempt to intimidate the latter. it didn't faze donghyuck at all though.

"you really think it's going to make his life easier, jeno? just because you're an angel, it doesn't mean that you're always right in doing what you're tasked to." another lean to the front by donghyuck made them an inch closer, practically almost kissing each other. "did father tell you to do this?"

"who said father told me to do this? it's my choice, donghyuck."

"then be wise and take back the sight. without it, mark's life would be so much more peaceful, though the evil spirits someone casted will still be after him." donghyuck's voice was full of sinister hatred towards the one who sent those bastards up to chase mark. he didn't know who, but once he found out, he promised himself to kill them. no matter who.

"i will, under one condition." jeno replied with a much more positive reaction: worry.
"who is this mortal to you to make you worried like this? devils don't do those."

"why? interested in him?"

"no. don't take this the wrong way and start an argument with me. donghyuck. i'm genuinely curious and i promise i'll take away the sight from mark." at the response, donghyuck lowered his guard and snapped his fingers once more to resume the frozen time.

"he's someone important to me." he solemnly said, lowering his head as he felt slightly embarassed to be having such emotions for a mere mortal.

"see, it's not that hard." jeno gave donghyuck a small smile before going back to work in making drinks.

the fallen was in deep thought, thinking that jeno was quite much different than other angels. he's... braver. like himself but more pure.

"jeno?" donghyuck called out, "can i ask you something?"

"yeah sure."

"are you not an angel before?" a small spark of shock showed on the angel's face, making it quite obvious that what donghyuck had said was true.

"h-how did you know?"

"what were you, jeno?" the angel had looked down, not wanting the latter to see his face out of worry. but one way or the other, donghyuck had to find out too. and so he sighed, looking up at the fallen with pursed lips.

"i was a fallen."
