"me?" the latter spoke, pointing his fingers towards himself in slight shock at the statement.
"there's nothing interesting about me, mark. really."

"oh so like, being an immortal is not interesting? tell me about it." donghyuck chuckled at mark's anticipation into hearing his words.

"fine, fine. i guess you deserve to know something about me, mortal." the male sighed, taking in every oxygen possible so as to not feel a heavy weight in his chest.

the thing is, he never really told anyone about himself other than jaemin, and renjun knew his story because of jaemin. so telling another person ither than them was quite... bothersome-ish for him. but he didn't mind. mark told him about himself, so he wanted to as well.

"i was an angel at first." he began.
"it was all good, until i was bullied on the street for being such a bad looking poor guy on the streets. but one man found me and took me in like his own. it was the best few days of my life."

"few days?"

"yeah. all mortals who had a connection with creatures like us always has a conflict, big or small. it's always connected to us." mark furrowed his eyesbrows, connecting it to what he was experiencing now.

"so... because i talk to you a lot... the evil spirits kept chasing me?"

"possibly. we don't know who did it. but one thing for sure that the one who did it made me accidentally kill an innocent. twice." the human gasped at that, but donghyuck didn't even bother as he expected that kind of reaction.
"it was because i thought wrong. i was never connected to a mortal human that close before. and that made me so naive and protective over him. that's how i ended up here, as a devil in the under."

and then there was a few seconds of silence between them, each having deep thoughts running around inside their heads. mark was confused to why at first donghyuck was so mean then suddenly so kind. now he understood.

"so... what are you exactly? and angel-devil?"

"being an angel is one thing, being a devil is also one thing. but being both is another." the immortal replied carefully. and at that, mark nodded and asked again,

"you're a fallen angel..."

"yeah. i guess i am." the smile donghyuck gave to mark was one he rarely did. very rarely, even. he never smiled ever since he was banished to the under. but now he had a reason to smile, and that was a mere mortal who could make his chest flutter like ones a human has. he didn't hate it at all. he loved it.

"i gotta say one thing," mark spoke, "you really do fit more to be an angel than a fallen angel. cuz dang are you too kind to be one."

the two chuckled loudly at mark's remark, feeling fireworks exploding in their chests. they felt something only to a minority of people they know.

they felt love, creeping up their hearts and making them feel things. to mark, it was a humane feeling, to feel adoration and affection. but to donghyuck... it felt unreal.

the fallen angel glanced at mark beside him, feeling glad that he had met him at his lowest times. the mortal became the source of his happiness. and he would risk anything for him. for mark.

"donghyuck..."

"hm?"

"your eyes..." mark's hands reached out to the latter's cheeks, gently touching it on the palm of his hands.

"they're glowing."

"w-what?" donghyuck's heart ached in a good way. he didn't know why he didn't feel horrible at the sight of mark staring right into his royal gold eyes. for once he didn't hate it so much. for one... he felt hope.

"they're so pretty..." mark said softly as he gently stroked donghyuck's cheeks, him leaning towards it right after like a cat.

then he noticed that the mortal was looking down. at his lips. his heart beat quicken as he saw mark looking back at his eyes.

"can i?" he let out tenderly with a low voice that donghyuck grew to love right that second. he nodded, and let mark leaned forward, pressing his lips towards his own.

a spark grew inside him, feeling a burst of emotions yet again.

donghyuck admitted it. he was in love with mark.

"you're soulmates." renjun stated very simply as he sat on his bed confortably while checking his nails that he just freshly painted with the color black.

"wha- i don't get it! i thought fallens don't hav-"

"they do, donghyuck. ugh please get out of my room." the devil groaned as he got off his bed and took his fancy glass of tea, lifting and dipping the tea bag to the hot water.

"really? explain then."

"fine. let me fucking start with reason one." placing the cup of tea on the bed side table, renjun leaned towards the wall and crossed his arms.
"you always met mark when he went to earth." it was true. ever since he met mark after being introduced to him, he was encountered the certain ravenette down on earth.

"two, because your gorgeously true side is showing a.k.a golden eyes only in front of mark." his gold eyes... probably the 3rd time that happened.

"three, you always have a strong tingly feeling with mark and was always knowing when he was in trouble." another true word from renjun.

"four, because you two were suddenly close to each other and was attracted to each other even when at first you guys argue a lot." donghyuck absolutely despised the mortal in the beginning. but now his eyes were filled with nother but love towards him.

"lastly, because you told us that you had a strong urge to protect mark no matter the cost-"

"okay okay! i get it." donghyuck couldn't deny a single word renjun spoke. all of it was true. all things that proved donghyuck and mark were soulmates were there.

they were soulmates, just like renjun and jaemin. and somehow, he didn't know how, donghyuck loved it.
