HEATHER POV“ What was that?!” I asked in shock, looking up at the now dark ceiling. “ What happened to the lights?”
“ I dunno, come, let’s get out of here.” Nancy whispered as she rose from the floor and helped me up.
I winced as I looked at my bandaged hand. She had helped me bandage my hand with the piece of my school shirt.
We walked out of the toilet and into the empty restroom. Our footsteps echoed as we walked down the passage, heading towards the classes. As we walked towards the senior classes, we saw a crowd of students standing outside.
I stopped walking and tried to turn back but Nancy held me.
“ Let me go! I can’t face them!”
“ Stop being a baby and shut up, alright. Let’s get the fuck outta here. We don’t have to go to class!”
I rolled my eyes and proceeded to walk pass the occupied students who seemed not to see us passing. What was going on? The other classes were already heading home, gossiping and laughing.
“ What the fuck happened to the lights?” Nancy asked one of the students.
“ I don’t know, They like burst and stuff. We’ve been told to leave school. Apparently…” before she could finish, we saw paramedics pulling a stretcher outside of the school clinic.
“ What the fuck?!” I whispered, seeing the dark haired girl who was strapped onto the stretcher.
“ Come on, we don’t have all day!” Nancy whispered as she pulled me towards the school hallway.
“ Wasn’t that Khia?”
“ Who cares, she’s much of a bitch than Zero and Randy are!” Nancy replied as we left the building and walked down the concrete path.
“ Speaking of Randy, how were you able to get to his phone?” I asked. “ Are sure you are not the one who bashed him over the head?”
“ What difference does it make? Of course it wasn’t me. I only stole his phone.”
“ I don’t believe you,” I said as we walked over to the other side of the road. Other students were already walking outside as well, yelling and singing.
“ Looks like everyone is out of the school,” I said as I stood behind one of the trees in a line. “ We have to get out of here,”
“ Yeah, our class is out too. Look, there’s Dexter.” Nancy said. “ Maybe I should talk to him,”
“ Why would you?”
“ Because he was the only guy with balls to stand up against Zero,”
I sighed. I felt guilty suddenly.
“ Go talk to him for me won’t you?” I finally spoke.
She nodded before walking away from me.I watched as she crossed the road and walked towards the tall boy will curly dark hair. I bit my lower lip and watched as they talked.
At least somebody cared, at least poor Dexter had tried to stand up for me, unlike the other bitches who just watched and decided to film everything. I had to talk to him later on, when I finally had the courage to.
