CYPRIAN POV“ Hey, are you okay?” I whispered, helping Dexter up.
“ LEAVE ME ALONE!!” he suddenly yelled, pushing me back violently before running pass everyone. Just like Heather had. I stood there in silence, not knowing what to do.
“ What the hell just happened?” one guy spoke before more joined in, talking and filling up the details.
I sighed and decided to go to my locker. My palm felt cold as I touched the steel door and pulled it open.
“ Hi,” a voice whispered.
I turned to face the little girl with light brown eyes.
“ You?”“ I am sorry about your friend,” she whispered.
“ It’s okay,” I said before forcing a smile.
“ My name is Nova,” she said, touching her chest.
“ Nova? What kind of name is that?” I asked.
“ The burning sun,”
My eyes suddenly saw Khia walking pass.
“ Khia!” I yelled, closing the locker and moving pass the little girl. “ Khia!”
I scurried down the passage, chasing the tall girl who seemed to be ignoring me. When I reached her, I held her arm and she turned to face me.
“ Geez Cyprian, give me a break!” she snapped.
I let her go and felt a stinging feeling on my chest. What was wrong with everyone today?
“ Sorry, I didn’t…”
“ Get lost! Don’t you have any one else to worry?”
“ I didn’t…”
“ Save it!” she said before walking away leaving me alone. Maybe everyone was not okay, maybe Randy had a lot of influence around the school than I thought. Khia must have been a fan girl.
The bell then rang, bringing normality to the situation. I sighed and turned around, heading back to my locker to grab my books.
Chasing Khia had made me forget about the main reason I had opened the locker at the first place.
