When I was younger, I was in a class consisted of very creative students. The teacher in particular, liked to stretch the limits of the students potential. A great teacher no doubt. I, however, wasn't such a great student (In their eyes anyway).

My problem with writing began to persists and my grade was a D+ the whole semester.

On our last project, we had to describe an interesting event in our life and had to share this story in front of the classroom. We each hand a copy to the teacher prior to us reading our tale.

Luckily or unluckily for me, I was to read my story last out of everyone.

Some described that writing were ways to cope with stress. Others were left with advice that they've learn. But, for the most part, there was tragedy and humor.

When the time of came for me to read mine, there was silence. Even after reading through it, there was almost no sound, save for the bell that rang and dismissed the class.

The only people that stayed was my teacher and two other students.

The teacher stood up, handing me my paper, and stared.

I received a D.Usually, I wouldn't be surprised but the paper was personal.

"Can you not recall any event in your life that had an interesting meaning? I will give you one last chance since this is your final grade. However, you will not receive full credit."

I continued to stare at the paper. The teacher shuffled to the other students, praising them for their wonderful and creative contribution to the class.

"So,having drama and humor and enlightenment is interesting?" I asked.

The teacher stopped midsentence, facing me,"Excuse me?"

"I said does having elements of tragedy, love, and all these sorts of problems and overcoming them interesting?" I continued,"Having a normal life without these elements makes me less of an interesting person? Does one need really need to experience true conflict? But doesn't society aim to have a normal life or am I taking this the wrong way?"

"Why can't I just be who I am, normal? Not trying to fit in isn't what I meant by that."

"How can you give an assignment that is so subjective? How can you, another human being like the rest of us, deem what is interesting and what isn't?"

With my paper in tow, I left the classroom.
