One thing to know about Bobby is that he never expects anything from Bern. He knows she loves what she does. He could never be the person to that away from her. He hates having to be away from her. It took him two hours to even figure out how to tell her. The letter was delivered after she left for work, and he couldn't even bring himself to open it until hours later.
The two of them decided they weren't going to talk about any of it until tomorrow because both needed to be in the others arm for one more peaceful night. After they ate dinner, they barely spoke a word to each other. They didn't need to. Being in the presents of each other was more than enough. The two lovers knew each other so well that when Bern flashed him a sleepy-eyed smile, he scooped her into his arms and carried her up to their bedroom. Bobby didn't need intimacy to be happy with Bern. He just needed to be with her. After the two slowly got ready for bed, they grabbed their books off of their nightstands and began reading to themselves. Bobby always had to be touching some part of Bern at all times. It kept him grounded. Bobby softly caressed the skin above her knee. After about fifteen minutes of reading, Bern looked up from her book to see Bobby fast asleep with his book laying on his face. Bern laughed to herself thinking about the countless times this had happened before. Even with a little bit of slobber on his face, she thought he was the most beautiful person on earth. She was got a rush of sleepiness when she looked back at her book, so she put it back on her nightstand, took a photo of him with the book on his face to show him tomorrow, carefully picked his book up and laying it on his nightstand, turned his lamp off as well as hers and slowly creeped back into bed trying not to wake him. She kissed his cheek and said, "Love you Bobby, always and forever." She knew this may be one of the last nights she'll have with Bobby, so she lays herself on his chest and closed her eyes only thinking of the beautiful life the two of them deserve to have. Especially after she tells him the big surprise. She's pregnant.
