"The water is colder than a penguin's ass, but worse is nothing." sighs Jin drying his hair with a towel. "What is that?" he asks from seeing Namjoon playing with the diary in his hands.

"It was near a corpse over there."

"And why did you take it?" Namjoon shrugs. Keeps doing the same thing, waiting for everyone to finish bathing to go do it. More than two hours go into it. There's shampoo, so Jungkook walks around happily with his clean hair. It reaches below his shoulders by this time.

Jin takes advantage of an electric stove to prepare the food. There are several instant soups. They know that the muscle they have will possibly go to shit from eating them so much, but there is no room for that concern for now. Not to say that even if it is little, they are still exercising. Not sleeping so much, Jungkook and Namjoon mainly engage in exercise routines before they have to leave.

Namjoon opens the diary. At first there is nothing important. It's mostly reports of patients with bad situations and how they manage to recover. It's kind of heartwarming until he gets to the last few pages.

"A soldier came to the clinic accompanied by his whole platoon" Namjoon starts reading aloud. "He had no bullet wounds, no broken bones either. He had a big bite on his arm. He lost part of it. The soldiers insisted it was an animal attack, but I know it was from a person! Because no animal has the same teeth. Unless he was bitten by a monkey."

"They wanted to hide it even at the worst time. No wonder everything went to shit." mumbles Yoongi sipping the instant soup and stirring the noodles a bit.

"Causing panic was going to make everything even messier" opines Hoseok thoughtfully. "To have said that a cannibal disease was going around, who knows what it caused."

"Besides, if they were supposed to be evacuating states already, it's because they were at least doing something" Taehyung adds with a mouth full of noodles. He covers his mouth for a moment to swallow. The half-curled black hair falling a little in his face. "Maybe we were just unlucky to be here and not be the first."

"They should have started with the small, far-flung states. Where it's warmer." muses Jin holding out the soup to Namjoon who takes it.

"We should have been on the beach and not here." ironizes Yoongi.

"They tried to kill the bitten one. They were kicked out of the hospital and no matter how much they insisted it was beyond saving, the doctors refused to believe it, how strange" reads Namjoon and turns the page. "Today six people arrived with bites on their bodies. One of them died on the way. The bite tore off his jugular vein and bled out" Jungkook is left with puffy cheeks and noodles hanging. Namjoon should censor what he reads because he can't eat like that. "I have a feeling there's something those soldiers didn't tell us."

"She's the smart nurse who dies in the movies." Yoongi points to the chopsticks.

"Correction, she died here too. The smart ones die because of the idiots who don't help them." grumbles Jin.

"More and more people are coming in who have bites. Many have died on the way and for some reason, when they are alive they attack the nurses and doctors. I'd like to get away from here, but there are so many patients here. Someone must have called in the army by now."

Namjoon stuffs his mouth with noodles, uneasy and even anxious to imagine what it must have been like to be here with that scenario. Knowing absolutely nothing and waiting for help that won't come. Not because there isn't any or the responsible State is indifferent, but because there isn't enough to cover all that such support merits. He swallows and furrows his eyebrows. The pages have blood on them.
