"This is the only functional train there is. The others are in very poor condition, they would eventually come loose or derail," reports the boy, Cheongsa, who announced himself able to control the machinery. "Now that there are more of us, we can loosen some of the wagons to make it lighter, use less fuel and be easier to handle."
"Are you sure you can control it? No offense, but it's a bit surprising and even convenient." says Jin and the boy nods, shoving his hands in his pants pockets.
"I understand the trepidation. I'd be nervous in your shoes too, but I wouldn't risk my own life to prove a foolish point" Jin gets his point across with that, "we can try putting it outside more so we have daylight and aren't in the dark in here. Just to prove my point."
"Go ahead, what do you need?"
Namjoon has, perhaps, too much hope for this. Yet how can he not have it? This is the first time they have such a concrete plan of action that doesn't depend on luck, the weather, the stars and their position. To manage it better they decided to go directly to the train they would use, check its conditions, even settle there momentarily while the snowstorms end. Very untimely as usual.
Are they trusting too soon? Maybe. There is not deny. However, as much as they tries to see it as a bad thing, this time don't get the feeling that it is. No one senses that anomaly or suspicion. These people look and act good to them. Genuinely interested in following them.
For a stupid reason why go with Idols during an apocalypse like this? They don't know, but if they want to go after, they assume they have no choice.
They get the train rolling and while it's a bit of a slow and even boring process to watch, you can tell Cheongsa knows what he's doing. Unsure at times, worthy of anyone who has seen how it's done, but he wasn't exactly studied.
They positioned the train a bit outside and the snow began to hit straight on. The dim clarity is enough illumination for them.
"It's too bad we won't be able to take the bus and jeeps. We won't find cars like those anywhere else." laments Jin with annoyance, folding his arms.
"Tomorrow we can try to put them in a box wagon. Just for practice," Cheongsa proposes. "There are some, we wanted to use them, but they're... a little surrounded and..."
"We'll handle it." assures Jungkook wrinkling his nose and they put their arm around Taehyung's shoulders. The model's eyes widen and he looks at him in horror At what point did he volunteer for that? Jin doesn't restrain himself from looking at them badly.
"There are a lot of unemptied stores around this area. We should try to take as much as we can. Who knows when we'll get out of this perfect burrow." ironizes Yoongi and Hoseok laughs covering his mouth.
"First we should make sure of one thing ..."
. . .
"How many here took the blood test?"
Fewer than twelve raise their hands, some don't even know what he's referring to and it's clear that there are people with even less information than them. Rather, they are among the few who are aware of the immunity issue. They didn't even think it was going to be like this. The most important thing is the least known by these groups with no contact with the military and fear for them.
Jungkook, Jin and Taehyung take out the jeep test shipment. It is fortunate that where Junghwa, they did not decide to use them. Some are broken, but there are enough to test them all.
As seems to be the custom, there are none of the purple ones. Of the thirty-eight, nine are capable of infection excluding Hoseok; there are two yellow, twelve green and fifteen blue. Giving that they are mostly immune to the bite.
