"What's that over there?"
"It's a crater full of infected. We usually drive them there so they don't bother us."
"Although we're a little afraid that one day they'll start to get out of there. They're so close together that it'll be a little while before they climb over each other."
Jungkook gets a little closer and manages to visualize the start of the crater. The noise is unbearable and tremendous. He jumps for a shove in the shoulder, but the grip on his abdomen prevents him from going face first to the ground. Taehyung laughs and sways. The girls there whisper to each other, excited to see the interaction in front of them.
"Don't be so silly. Let's go, I want to play with Yeontan now that he can bark as much as he wants." Taehyung insists and Jungkook pouts, grumpy from the fright.
"You can go if you want. I plan to see a little more. Being alone I'll be able to move faster."
Taehyung looks at him doubtfully and with stern disapproval at what he intends. It's obvious Jungkook wants to venture out there. Not for supplies exactly. He shakes his head and pats her back.
"No. Let's go back and it's over. Come on."
Jungkook gives an annoyed grunt, takes what it's his turn to carry and walks next to Taehyung. It's not even a good idea what Jungkook wants because of the catastrophic weather. Although the snowfall has eased a bit, they can barely walk. The snow is too high and at any step they risk being grabbed by the ankle, bitten and even killed.
Jungkook keeps giving an occasional glance back, his disheveled and almost loose hair flapping in the breeze. Taehyung goes whistling, grateful that Jungkook didn't insist on going off alone. Sometimes his best friend is so stubborn .
. . .
"If you can't, that's okay."
Jin gags, disgusted by the slimy sound of having driven the screwdriver into the infected's head. They are quite few and thanks to accumulate them in one place, they can get rid of them without any damage. Cheongsa can't stop being excited about what is achieved with a little more guidance.
Because he doesn't have it, neither do any of his companions; it's as if this group -Bangtan-, are able to command without even trying hard, but doing well and without being unfair to the rest. It's a wonder that seems false at first glance. If I wasn't living it, I would think it's just voices of fanatic people trying to convince of this wonderful idea.
Namjoon pats Jin on the back, looking for his gaze; the elder nods with pallor on his face and the urge to vomit getting stronger and stronger. They get off the platform once there are no more infected with movement and head towards the carriage Cheongsa mentioned.
"Is there a way to put it on the train?" asks Namjoon unsure. It's huge and they won't be able to push, but he also doesn't have much of an idea if there's a mechanism to it all.
"Yes. We can use one of those cars over there" He points to a very, very dark hole he hadn't noticed until now. He points with the flashlight and finds several small cars with a convenient claw. "They're used for precisely this. They push empty wagons that have broken down and such."
"Ah... Jin." Namjoon smiles weakly and embarrassed. Jin stretches his lips.
"Someday you'll have to learn to drive." Warns the older one pointing his finger at him and walking towards the car.
"That day will come, but not today and not with our wagon." Yoongi snorts with his hands on his hips.
Namjoon laughs weakly and chagrined.
