24. Mask - Arrow

Oliver is just done with some bullshit. And I have the same with this day...

Summary: Oliver has a mask on for his loved ones who never knew what happened on the island. For the people who do know there will still be a mask. For Slade and Shado however they know the kid the best because they can see through those masks. 

An au where Shado somehow came back from the dead... Or we can say that it was Barry's fault...

Tw: The ending is a bit sad

When Oliver returned from the island he knew that he couldn't let his loved ones see his emotions. Although not his real emotions. So he put the playboy mask back on. And it was scary for him that it was do easy to do that.

It was also scary for him how easy it was to hurt some people under that mask and not feel remorse for it. Even though he hurt a lot of people.

The only people that ever really saw the real him were Slade and Shado. But even after Shado died he began to build a mask around Slade. Maybe it was because he knew that friends on the island would hurt him. So yes he listened to Slade at some point. But it was after he let himself get hurt again.

So when Slade came back but wasn't himself Oliver began to see that is wasn't a good idea to still have some friendships around. This is the reason why he didn't listen to Sarah for suggesting in not telling Slade how Shado died.

So when Slade went bat shit crazy but didn't blame him he didn't know how react. But he didn't really let his mask slip. Not when Sarah was around at least. When Slade was around then yes sometimes he would let his mask slip a little bit.

When Shado came back for some reason. He didn't know that Slade still had some mirakuru and basically told Shado to also grab something when they were seeking for it because he felt like they would need it. He didn't know how to react to her coming back. And began to isolate himself.

Here he ended up going to Tokyo. Because for some reason Argus didn't know how properly talk to someone. Here he began to place his mask in the right places and never let his emotions through. Only for kids when they needed to see the real him.

When he came back to the island he was met with Shado and Slade. He came to know that they did try and get together but came to know that they would never be happy together. Because of this Oliver began to let them see through their mask. He only put his mask down whenever he was either killing people or when he met people he didn't know.

When he came home he only ever let his mask slip around Shado and Slade and when Diggle became part of their group. Around him. He asled Felicity for help sometimes yes. But he never let his mask slip.

Because he knew that if he would get in love with someone that it would either kill them at some point or that he would get to used with his mask down that they would be surprised in what they would find.

When his mom came to know that he was the arrow he didn't tell her that he would let his mask down. So even though she knew he was the Arrow he still didn't let his mask down. And he wouldn't let his mask down for anyone for a long time.

When he met Kara and Barry on the other hand it was different. Because they knew how hard it was for him. But also because they experienced everything what he did. And knew how to handle themselves. Although Kara could handle herself better sometimes then Barry could.

When he died only a few select people were allowed to come to his funeral. These people were the people he fought with. So the Legends, Kara and her family and the Flash and co. His family or at least what was left of it was called the Arrow team. They were also allowed to come.

Because even in the end he still had some masks. Only the select people that knew him. Knew the real him. And even then it was sometimes hard to get the truth out of him. Because being alone and being told that you shouldn't trust people can be hard.

But when you begin to not trust people it's hard to gain their trust back. For Oliver it was hard for him to see the best in people. That was also the ending of his letter he left people. He would watch over them. But he would never get that part he lost in those 5 years back. Even if he was dead.

I-... I have no idea how I got this idea and how I wrote this much. Around 800 words.

Because I didn't want to write this at all. But here we are.
