"Whatcha doing?" I hear an unfamiliar voice from above me.

I went to grab my gun but realized it would be hopeless, I shouldn't have gotten so distracted. I stand up waiting for him to make a move. Ugh, this is just great, walk around a wooded area looking for your target just so you can forget you're supposed to be stealthy. He looks down at me from the trees above. I smile at him awkwardly, his dark hazel eyes piercing through my soul. He's kinda gorgeous.

"Well aren't you a pretty one?" His eyes pointed downwards condescendingly, he seemed to be taunting me in some strange vampire kind of way.

"I am, aren't I." I smirked right back up at him.

He jumped down from the tree swiftly in the blink of an eye, quite graceful might I add. Gerard walked over to me and slightly grazed his hand across my face. I was surprised at the touch, and for some reason slightly revolted. I grabbed his wrist and it immediately went weak.

"You're a bit touchy." Gerard grinned ear to ear, while I was not amused.

"You're literally the one who touched my face." He pulls his hand away and shrugs as he walks away into the forest of dark trees. Lost in my own thoughts I let this beautiful vampire man get away from me, just like that. No way, he confused me, you can't just do that to someone.

"Thinking about me still?" he stood over my shoulder, I realized I hadn't moved an inch from when he touched my face. It's like I was in a trance. A trance of his indescribable beauty. His touch is so soft and gentle. Exactly what you'd expect from a "predator", making the prey vulnerable. He tilted his head ever so slightly, with the sassiest hands on hips stance I think I've ever seen, He kinda looks like a teenage girl.

"Are you gonna say anything, Thumbelina?" I frown at the nickname and the fact that he's teasing me when I'm supposed to be killing him. Is it bad I already can't bring myself to do so?

"What am I supposed to say, hm? And I'd appreciate it if you'd refrain from calling me short." I stouted back. he stared into my eyes with a deep intensity and for some reason, I wasn't looking away from him.

"If looks could kill." He smiled a little for some reason, his fangs showing from below his pale lips.

"You think I'm pretty?" he never broke the eye contact he had originally started, his patronizing tone belittling me.

"I don't, well I do, I can't" the words just fall out of my mouth. "I didn't say you were," I said in the most absolute sure of myself tone that I've ever had, even though I was very wrong, I did in fact say he was pretty. It wasn't on purpose though.

"Ahh but you did, I heard you." the smell of an old bookstore with new pages wafting upon the wind. His breath smelled of sweet whiskey, His scent was almost nostalgic somehow.

"I didn't, you don't know what you heard." He smirked but just nodded as if he was just going along with whatever I was saying.

Wow, I'm really bad at my job, eye on the prize Frank, you know what you have to do. I reach for my wooden stake ever so slowly hoping he wouldn't notice.

"Ah, now what do you think you're doing, Frankie?" well that didn't work, I'd have to be quick. Why is this so hard? He's so close to me, why can't I just stab him? "I don't recall ever having told you my name." For the first time since this interaction had started Gerard's cocky facade broke.

"And I never told you mine."He smirked, "Tell me how you know mine, and I'll tell you how I know yours." I thought about it for a moment, what's the harm in telling him I was there to kill him?

"Well, I'm here to kill you, because you know, you're a vampire. You kill people." His eyes got wide as if he was trying to act innocent.

"I would never kill anyone, I don't drink all their blood, just most of it." I looked up into his eyes, was he actually being serious?

"Gerard, are you dense?" He looked genuinely confused at my question, "Human hearts don't produce that much blood in a short amount of time. You killed them." Gerard looked as if he was going to cry. Can vampires cry?

"I didn't mean to." he looked innocent, like really innocent. Too innocent. He's tricking me, isn't he? He looks at the ground in disappointment. "I didn't know."

"How do I know you truly didn't mean it." I don't necessarily believe him, but he seems as if he feels bad. "Nevermind, just drop it. Now how do you know my name?" he sheepishly smiled.

Gerard holds up my official hunter's license and giggles, "You should really keep an eye on your things, you might lose them." He grabs my hand and lays said license in the palm of my hand. "Hold onto that will ya?"

"Haha, whatever." I groan sarcastically.

"I'm assuming I'll be seeing you soon, Mr. Vampire Hunter." He says in a sassy tone. I roll my eyes and nod my head as he starts to walk away from where we've been standing this whole time.
