When I got back into bed Liam sat up and leaned against the headboard with his legs bent hugging his knees and resting his chin on them. I sat down opposite of him with my legs crossed.

"I'm sorry, Harry. I know there is no excuse for my actions, or rather, for my lack of actions. I should have told you, but you needed me when you found out that Louis was our teacher. I didn't want to rub salt in the wound by telling you that I was with Zayn. And I made the mistake of scolding you and saying those things, so I couldn't tell you to a later point because I wasn't any better. And then it went on and on and as more time passed it got harder for me because I didn't know how to tell you anymore. It would have been so bad when I told you out of the blue, so I kept my mouth shut." He started to explain and I had to admit that he was right. It was a difficult situation for him, but I was still a bit pissed.

Liam inhaled deeply before continuing. "Then, about two and a half weeks ago I stayed here because Zayn had helped me study and Louis was... uh, he... was away. So I didn't have to worry about him coming home, but then something happened and he came back early and that was then he found out, because Zayn and I were cuddling on the couch. I begged him not to tell you because I didn't want you to hear it from someone else and I promised him to tell you by the end of the month. I just hadn't figured out how to and that was one of the two reasons I've been so distant lately. I just didn't know how to tell you without fearing losing you and I couldn't even look you in the eyes anymore, because just as you said before, there was no need to hide it because you are in the same situation..." He explained.

"But why were you scared even after all of this? I mean, we've been best friends since forever and we've been through a lot of hard times, but we always managed to work things out. Then why were you so scared?" I asked trying to understand it.

"Because..." Liam's eyes filled with tears once more. "Because I was so afraid of losing you. I know what it's like not to have friends and I was terrified of losing you over something like that. After that shit Tyler put me through I couldn't risk losing you. I'm so sorry!" A sob escaped his lips and I was quick to hug him as best as I could because of our awkward positions.

"Li, look at me." I said and he looked at me with wet cheeks. "You will never ever lose me, alright? Never! Don't even think about such a thing, okay? Yes, sometimes we fight and we had many fights on our way, but I could never let you down. I will always be there." I looked at him intently and meant every word I said.

"B-but I lied to you." He sobbed.

"No, you didn't lie to me. You simply didn't tell me the truth. And even if you did, who fucking cares? Our friendship is much more important than such a trifle."

"Aren't you mad?" Liam asked with big eyes.

"Yes, I am a bit mad and before I came here I was furious and hurt, but now I understand. But it's nothing we can't work on. Everything is fine." I smiled sincerely at him.

"I'm sorry, Haz. Truly." He mumbled and I squeezed him in my arms.

"It's alright." I smiled at him and he smiled back at me. "But uhm, you said something about Louis being away earlier?"

"Uh, yes, I, uhm..." Liam stammered with big eyes. "I don't know if I can say this- you should talk to him about it and not me." He said eventually.

"Does it maybe has something to do with a hospital visit or something?" I looked at him knowingly.

"Y-yes." He nodded his head with a sad expression.

"So you know?" I asked him and he nodded again.

"Yes, but please don't be angry with him. I found out by accident. He didn't tell me." Liam rushed out, probably fearing that he might have caused trouble, but I just smiled at him reassuringly.
