You wanted to ask if he was alright.. but he wasn't. And he definitely didn't want to talk about it.

But you were curious.. and you couldn't help it.
———

Hours had passed without you and Eddie really exchanging any words. Just some comments on the movie you were watching, and you had tried to start a conversation several times, but he just answered short, not adding much detail. You had tried to ask about where he was, but he just didn't reply. You could tell that he really did not want to talk about it, which you understood in some ways. You guys didn't know each other that well, but, it did hurt that he was not saying a single word. You couldn't help him if he wasn't willing to talk.

The movie wasn't your main focus. Figuring out what had happened to him was. You went to pretty much everything in your head, evert possible thing that it could be. His car broke down? Something happened to a family member? Stomach ache that he was embarrassed about? No. A drug deal related thing? Oh.. that might be it actually. And if that was the case, you honestly didn't want to know much about it. You wanted to stay out of that.

And for a little while more, Eddie stayed. Eventually he told you that he had to head home, and thats what he did. So you were left all alone with your thoughts, thinking about what the hell you were going to do.

The days passed, and it was all pretty much the same. It was school, hanging out at the hellfire table with Eddies friends, class, homework, sleep. You didn't really mind that, but what scared you was that the Byers was coming now. You remembered that Mike said that they were coming next week or weekend, something like that... meaning this week. And you were currently sitting at the hellfire table, eating your lunch and listening to the guys talking about the d&d campaign that was coming up, with Will as a visitor. For the last few days you were not sure what to do about the situation. The first idea was just not to hang out with the guys, so you wouldn't meet the Byers. But then you knew that Eddie would ask if something was wrong, and you had to tell him absolutely everything.
So you decided on staying and hope that they didn't recognise you or say anything to the others... you just hoped that this would work out.. but you had a feeling it wouldn't.

"What do you think y/n?" You heard Mike say to you, making you turn your head towards him with a little confused smile.
"Sorry what? I didn't hear." You simply answered, waiting for a reply. "Do you want to join the d&d campaign tonight? The Byers are coming today and Will is going to join us in hellfire tonight."

Ugh.. what were you going to do? But... if you just met Will, it wouldn't be a problem, you thought at least. Because Will wasn't the one you had talked to a lot, he was a lot younger. It was Jonathan that would be a bigger problem, because he knew a lot more. Of course.. he could have said everything to Will, but there was something inside of you that just told you that he hadn't told him anything. Jonathan was a close friend, but now.. you really didn't know that to expect.

"Y-yeah sure, I'm in. I'll sit in the back and just watch you guys." You laugh nervously, making Eddie and Dustin look at you.

"Darling, you will join us. I'm gonna teach you the game, and you're gonna enjoy it." Eddie said with a little smirk, and you couldn't help but smile a little bit. "Alright fine fine!" You simply answered before you continued to eat your foot. The guys continued talking and you started thinking again.

Ever since the thing with Eddie, something was changed and you really didn't know what. The others must have seen it as well. He was a bit more distant, didn't talk too much. But the thing that concerned you the most, was that he didn't seem too hyped about the campaign that evening. So something was wrong. But you had tried speaking to him for days now, and he always said that he was fine, that there was nothing to be concerned over. But you cared about him. Come on! You had even slept in the same bed. Of course you cared.

But at the moment, you were more concerned for yourself and your past showing when the Byers were coming. It could ruin a lot, everything really.

School was finished, and everyone was heading over to Mikes place to wait for Jonathan, Jane and Will. You didn't want to come, you needed some time for yourself first. But you were going to join them at school for the campaign later on. So you walked out of school alone, but heard some footsteps behind you, so you turned around.

"Hi Eddie."

"Hi y/n. Are you alright?" Eddie asked, placing a hand on your shoulder, making you look at it and smile gently. "Yes Eddie, I'm fine. Just... having some bad days. That's all. But I'm excited for tonight." You smile at him, looking into those chocolate button eyes before you looked down.
"Remember that you can talk to me y/n, if there is something." He let go of your shoulder and gently placed his hand under your chin, making you look up at him. "Yeah.. and.. same to you Eddie. Talk to me, if there is something of course." Eddie smiles and nodded, kind of avoiding eye contact, and you knew why.
"Well darling, see you tonight. It's gonna be so fucking fun. And I've heard Will is amazing at d&d, so I'm excited." He laughed and walked slowly away, waving at you as he walked to his car.

Yeah.. it was going to be fun.. so very fun..
