"Then so will I." She said and I smiled.

"No you're the manager. That's a great job don't resign for me, please." I begged her.

"But you know I don't like rich people." She said and I laughed.

"That is true but you worked so hard to be in the position that you are today." I told her.

"I guess I did." She said softly.

"I think I wanna go back to school." I announced and Kendal was silent for a while.

"You're gonna crush it." She said and I breathed out in relief before smiling.

"Yeah." I said proudly.

"Now I wanna go to school. And we can go with Kenny." She said excitedly and I laughed.

"Aren't we too old to hang out with Kenny?" I asked and she laughed.

"Everyone in college is old." She said and I laughed before agreeing with her. I heard my dad calling me from downstairs so I climbed out of bed.

"I gotta go Ken. Talk later?"

"Yeah. I love you bye." She said in a bubbly tone.

"Love you, bye." I said before ending the call and going downstairs. I heard my dad's laughter so I frowned.

My eyes widened when I saw Vera laughing with my dad. They both looked at me with smiles on their faces as I reached them.

My dad took his coffee before going outside. I went over to hug Vera and she sighed nervously.

"Hi." She said softly.

"Hey." I said and she looked down at her hands.

"Can I tell you something?" She asked and I nodded.

"Do you know that I dated Luciano?" She asked and I frowned.

"No but I had a feeling." I said and she nodded.

"Uhm- so I was raped- five years ago." She said her voice trembling. "By five men." She continued painfully and a lump settled in my throat.

"Viktor sort of blamed everything on Luciano. And I needed a break so I left town, I thought it would be nice to forget, but when I came back Viktor had found out that those men were Dario's enemies. They found out where we lived and one night I was alone and they weren't there. They broke into the house and they-" she stopped before wiping her cheeks dry.

"Viktor was blinded by rage and it affected me too. For the longest time I was blaming Dario for what happened too. That's why I broke up with Luciano because he supported his brother. And at the time I didn't understand it but I guess I do now. Dario didn't tell them to rape me, it's not like he knew-"

"I'm so sorry, I don't know what to say." I said under my breath. "I'm so sorry." I said sadly.

"Say you won't leave them, like I did. There was a time when Luciano was my entire world and Dario was my best friend. Just love them unconditionally. That's all I ask." She said so I went over to hug her tightly.

"This world doesn't deserve you." I said before placing a kiss on her forehead and she smiled at me through her tears.

"Just promise me you won't let them go, Paige." She said softly.

"I promise you." I said and she smiled at me.

"I'm flying back to Russia tonight. I'm going home, for good." She said softly. "Don't tell anyone." She said and I chuckled before nodding.

"You should say your goodbyes." I said and she shrugged.

"If I do I'll never get out." She said before shaking her head. "It's better if nobody knows." She said so I nodded.

"Fine I'll respect your wishes." I said and she smiled at me.

"I should go." She said before getting up from her seat and hugging me goodbye.

"Vera." I called and she turned around. "I hope you heal from what happened." I said and she smiled  sadly.

"Me too." She said before leaving the house.
