"sunoo!"
sunoo's eyes locked with the owner of the cheery yet deep voice calling out to him from a booth near the back of the cafe. he assumed that was jung wooyoung.
to be honest, he was both pretty and masculine at first glance, and he acknowledged how well he styled himself. wooyoung was decked in some tight leather pants and a loose, half-button silk shirt. half of his hair was tied up, exposing the blonde hair underneath the layer of black hair.
"hello, wooyoung-ssi" sunoo bowed his head slightly to greet the older.
wooyoung's lips pulled back into a smile, as he chuckled, "i didn't think you'd be this polite considering how you nearly killed the upperclassman"
sunoo shrugged, "he deserved it."
wooyoung laughed, "certainly. he's an ass. anyways, take a seat and call me hyung unless you want to have yaja time. i certainly don't mind."
sunoo instantly shook his head, "i'll just stick with hyung. do you have anything you want? i'll take our orders to the front."
wooyoung's eyes flicked up to the side before it settled back on sunoo. "i'll take an iced caramel macchiato. thanks sunoo."
"excuse me."
sunoo's voice went unheard by the barista as the man was mumbling something under his breath. sunoo's eyes flicked down to the name tag attached to the apron on his chest.
choi san.
"san-ssi? are you able to take my order?"
san jerked slightly before he quickly came up to the cash register. "sorry about that. welcome to kq cafe, what can i get you?"
"one iced americano and one iced caramel macchiato."
"will that be all? then it will be 21,500 krw "
"thank you."
sunoo went back to take a seat across wooyoung. "sorry you had to come. i know jay's a bit...pushy."
wooyoung shook his head, quickly reassuring, "it's no trouble at all. though i don't know the reason, he pushed for me to come today. i do need this too."
sunoo was intrigued, "you need this?"
"you see that barista over there–" sunoo turned around to see san quickly looking away from them, shuffling back to make coffee. "–he's the problem."
the imaginary light bulb lit up in sunoo's mind. the slight edge in san's tone, the scrutiny behind the polite words.
"there's a reason why you chose this cafe right?"
wooyoung smiled, this time with a slight twinkle in his eyes. "you're a smart cookie. jay forgot to tell me that. yes, i'm in love with that big idiot working the counter."
sunoo sighed as to the most cliche reason why wooyoung would even be here with him.
"let me guess. he's straight?"
wooyoung groaned as he leaned back into the plush seat of the booth, "bingo. my best friend of all time, the guy i'm in love with, is straight. lord really knows how to fuck me over."
sunoo thought at how ironic his situation is. he's with someone who has the exact same problem as him. "believe it or not hyung. i'm in the same boat as you."
wooyoung quickly leaned forward with a teasing smile, "yah who, what, when, where. spill."
sunoo flicked wooyoung's forehead, "he's straight as far as i know. there's also a high chance he thinks of me as a brother since you know we grew up together."
wooyoung whispered, "is it that hot physics major? park sung–"
sunoo smacked his palm over wooyoung's mouth. "shush, i think the whole cafe could here you."
wooyoung ruffled sunoo's hair as he cooed and teased at how sunoo was blushing. two drinks were placed down quite harshly on their table, jerking the two away from each other.
"your coffees," san's strained voice audible to both of them.
wooyoung's face lit up as he took a sip of his coffee, "thank you sannie."
san quickly walked away from them.
sunoo gagged. "i don't think you have to worry. i'm pretty sure he likes you too."
wooyoung's eyes burned with hope, "do you really think so?"
sunoo smiled confidently, "just tell him. i'm 100% sure he likes you too. if i'm wrong, i'll compensate you with a lunch on me."
wooyoung smirked as he leaned forward to wipe sunoo's lips.
"what are you–"
"i guess sunghoon likes you too especially from the way he's glaring like he wants to strangle me."
"what where–"
wooyoung firmly kept sunoo's face looking at him, by hooking his fingers under sunoo's chin.
"yah don't be so obvious. he's been watching us for the last fifteen minutes or so."
"fifteen minutes? fuck, did he hear you scream–"
"cmon im not that bad and he wasnt there at that point. okay calm down but he's walking this way right now."
"hi sunoo. who's this?"
"real subtle park," wooyoung coughed out before sunoo jabbed his elbow into him.
"i'm wooyoung, his date and you are?"
sunoo winced on the last bit, it was quite painfully obvious that wooyoung was literally dismissing sunghoon's presence.
"i'm his best friend," sunghoon gritted out.
wooyoung's phone started to buzz and immediately sunghoon cut him.
"seems like you're busy wooyoung. let me steal sunoo from you for a second. bye." sunghoon dragged sunoo out of the way.
"what kind of best friend acts jealous when you're on a date," wooyoung scoffed as he watched sunghoon forcibly drag sunoo with him through the cafe's window.
