Harumi's POV

Warm rays of light ran across my face, bright behind my eyelids. I jerked up suddenly as I registered their warmth, feeling a streak of fear. Glancing around, I could see I was in 'my' bedroom, the bedsheets twisted around my body from its jerking.

"Arg," I muttered as a slumped against my pillows. I wasn't in prison anymore, I didn't need to fear sabotage from other inmates. The clock on the wall opposite my bed ticked away, telling me I had an hour before I needed to leave. I untangled myself from the bedsheets and slipped out of the bed, not bothering to remake it.

As I took a few steps, a scratchy sensation around my ankle distracted me. I pulled up the sweatpants and glared at the little device strapped to my leg. Yesterday evening an officer dropped off equipment and clothing for me.

I was officially under house arrest and bound to Lloyd for one month. The device around my ankle kept me tied in with a watch-like device Lloyd wore. If I wandered 1 mile away from him, my anklet would start electrocuting me, freezing my muscles so I couldn't escape. What upset me the most about the device though, was how it branded me. Anyone who saw it would know what I had done. They would see only a villain with it.

I angrily tugged the edge of my borrowed sweatpants down over it, hiding the device as best I could. I then brushed my hair, trying to make myself appear as decent as possible. My eyes trailed towards the small sack sitting on the beanbag. My chest tightened as my mind wandered to its contents, making me feel sick.

The only outfit the officer had given me was the black robes I wore while serving the Overlord. They were the only thing I owned before being hauled to prison. My knuckles whitened as my grip tightened around the brush. You are not that person anymore. I tried to tell myself, tried to reassure myself. My reflection in the mirror stared back at me, showing a face twisted in rage and eyes with dark circles and a haunted look. I slammed the hairbrush down, feeling the rage and guilt tumble through me. I wasn't fooling anyone, let alone myself. There was no way I could go back, back to being anything other than a villain.

Curse that stupid outfit! I turned towards the sack and held up the black clothing, feeling my stomach twist.

"That's the spirit, Lloyd. Just like your father!" I snarled. The boy in front of me growled in rage.

"Stop saying that!" Lloyd shouted, his oni power taking over.

I stuffed the outfit back in the sack, making it disappear and snapping myself out of the memories. I needed an outfit, but I wasn't wearing that thing, not ever again. It carried to much pain and made me feel used. I barely remembered much after being resurrected by the Overlord. Him possessing me meant I remembered little of the catastrophic events that I caused. Bits and flashes came now and then, leaving me confused and disoriented.

A knock at the door pulled my attention to the present.

"Harumi, you ready? Zane made waffles." Lloyd's voice spoke, muffled by the door. I gave one final glare at the sack before standing up and sliding open the door. Lloyd stood just outside, dressed casually in jeans and wearing a white shirt. A bigger, long sleeve green shirt covered the white one, acting like a jacket. I was willing to bet it probably kept daggers hidden. His eyes held concern as he examined my appearance.
