My eyes cracked open and almost immediately a throbbing headache ensued at the back of my head. My vision was extremely fuzzy, forcing me to blink a few times before I was able to get a full view of the room we were in. It was cramped with a buzzing desk to my right, covered in laptops and other odd bits of electronics.

Several metal robots, the ones that attacked us earlier, stood guard facing away from us. Which, on all accounts was stupid as now they couldn't see what we were doing, though I wasn't going to object.

I looked down and noted a metal chain tied around me which appeared to be made of vengestone. Further inspection revealed I was tied back to back with Jay, Nya and Kai. Fun.

I moved a little more, testing the strength of the chains and their looseness, when I felt someone's hair brush the back of my neck. It was Jay I realized, as I felt his curly hair brush my neck again. It created an unfortunately itchy sensation that was accompanied by an irresistible urge for me to scratch. Of course it was impossible with my arms immobile at my sides.

"Cole? Are you awake?" I heard Jay ask as he once again moved his head.

"Yeah. Are you okay?" I respond while raising my shoulders and squirming slightly in a futile attempt to itch my neck.

"Besides the fact that I'm chained to the floor in an old building with an empty stomach, yeah, Im fine." A smile cracked across my face. Good ole Jay, always able to lighten a situation.

Giving up on scratching my neck, I stopped squirming and looked around the room. "We have to get out of here and find Zane and Lloyd," I say, keeping my voice low so that the robots stationed around us didn't hear. That's if they could hear at all.

"Why haven't they come for us yet? If they were caught wouldn't they be thrown in with us?" Jay asked curiously.

"I don't know. Maybe they aren't because Zane is a robot and Lloyd is an oni and they could technically get us out of this mess quicker than we can ourselves. If the Mechanic was smart, he would put them in a higher security spot." My explanation seemed to satisfy the auburn ninja as he didn't ask any more questions.

"Geh- where- Oooh, come on," I heard Kai groan in a raspy voice from behind me. Nya seemed to be waking up as well since I felt her beginning to move. My eyes flickered back to the robots, seeing if they moved at all from the noise behind them. Nothing happened.

"Guys? Jay?" Nya asked, shifting around and making her pony tail tickle my neck. I bit down an urge to growl as the tingling sensation started to drive me crazy.

"We're awake. Are you ok, Nya?" Jay asked, oblivious to my discomfort. The girl squirmed some more, trying to loosen the chains before sagging in defeat.

"Yeah I'm fine. Just a little disoriented," She said, just as Kai tried another futile attempt at the vengestone.

Creeeeaaakk....

We all froze at the same time when we heard the shuffling of footsteps on wood. There was more ominous creaking coming from above us before green lightning shot out from a crack. It shot towards a robot's neck and with a subtle pop, the metal thing shut down, head slumping lifeless. The other robots joined the first one's fate in quick succession.

Then a green flash dropped from a now visible hole in the boards above the ceiling, landing with a light thump on the ground.

"Lloyd! Took you long enough!" Kai exclaimed, twisting his head around to see. I watched as the small blond frowned and knelt down next to me, examining the chains.

"Well, gee, Kai. Maybe if you didn't jump out of the cabinets and try to play hero without a signal, you all wouldn't be here right now," our young leader paused to lift the chains and added, "Don't think I've forgotten about you, Nya." I looked over to see her grimacing. I bet if she wasn't bound, she would have crossed her arms.
