I turned around, kind of disappointed.
It was Marie, running after me, out of breath.
"Took you long enough!"
"I'm sorry I was really starting to get along with John."
I smiled at her. "Oooh-"
"Don't even start."
We walked back home together, until we had to go different ways.
It was still freezing cold out, it was basically April now, so hopefully it wouldn't be as cold for much longer.April meant my birthday was coming up, but I hated the fact I was getting older each year, so I never really celebrated it.
April 29th was my birthday, so we still had nearly a month.Eventually, I finally reached home, but I kept tossing and turning all night. I just kept thinking about Brian and Roger. They were both so... perfect, like angels or greek gods. I fell asleep after some time, and woke up to my alarm clock at 8:00am.
All day my throat felt as dry as the desert, but I felt like I could throw up at any minute too. I got to work, late, about to talk to Milo, to see he was talking to someone else. He turned around to me, turning red.
"Oh hi! This is my.." He paused for a few seconds, suspiciously, as the girl he was talking to look at him, unimpressed.
"Girlfriend." He said eventually.
Girlfriend?
She was nothing like I was, her hair was golden and long and wavy, while mine was a rich- brown colour, short, no longer than my shoulders, but also wavy. Her skin was soft, tan and clear while mine was pale-ish.
I thought he was at least interested in me, but I guess not.
I smiled at her warmly, but she didn't seem impressed.
"Nice to meet you."
"Shes uh.. a friend."
She looked at me up and down, chewing her gum louder than ever and turned straight back to him.
She whispered something in his ear, before leaving."Finally." He said under his breath.
"Finally?"
"I've been meaning to leave her for some time now, and-"
"And you don't have the nerve to leave her." I say, leaning against the bookshelf, smirking.
"Basically, yeah." He smiles at me. "Sometimes I just feel like it should be..." He paused for a second. "Well, just me."
What?
My heart fell into a million pieces.
He wasn't looking for a partner?
"Okay.. well that isn't the truth." He said, honestly. "I feel like you're the only one I can trust with this. I'm...."
Waiting for him to finish his sentence patiently, my heart aching.
"Homosexual."
I do not know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't that. He looked like he was about to cry a river.
"I support you Milo. You're honestly one of my best friends."
I just knew he was smiling after those words. The rest of the day normal, except for the fact I had lots of work to do so I was the last to leave.
Or so I thought.
I was just leaving the library, when I hear an unfamiliar voice.
"Lucy!"
I turn around to see the janitor. He was old and kind of smelled.
I sighed.
"Hi John."
"I love that shirt on you." He said creepily.
"Thank.. you?"
He slid his hand around my waist as I pulled his arm away.
"Oh don't be afraid!"
I began to hurriedly walk out of the library, but it was like a maze.
"Let me take you home!" He said, following me.
It was dark in the library. It was around 11pm, and the lights didn't do very much, so I couldn't really see anything. I suddenly felt a hand slip around my waist again firmly. I tried to pull it away but failed. His lips pressed against mine as I tried to pull away.
"S- stop!" I tried to say.
He began to unbutton my shirt as tears fell down my cheeks.
No no no.I tried even harder to push him away but I just couldn't. He pulled down my skirt and panties, and I was practically sobbing at this point. He
undressed too as I took a glass from the counter next to me and smashed it against his head as he let go of me and I just ran. Luckily there was an upstairs and I just shut myself in an office and put a chair up to the door.
I noticed a telephone on the table.
Thank god.
I dialled the number that first came to mind.
Roger.
I heard footsteps as I was shaking and sobbing.
Hurry the fuck up Roger.
Eventually he answered.
"Roger I need you to-" I whispered to him.
"Lucy? What's the matter?"
"I need you to pick me up, I'm at the library in town and I need you to come. Now." I heard the doorknob turn as more tears fell down my cheeks.
"On my way."
He hung up the phone in almost an instant.
I grabbed some random towel and wrapped it around me. I guess it's goodbye to those clothes that I'll never get back.
I constantly looked out the window until I saw two bright lights and heard a honk. I just needed to make a run for it.
Just go. Just go.
I slowly moved the chair and the door just swings open.
I swept past him and ran as fast as I could as my tears dropped onto the floor.
I went out of the library exit and into Roger's car.
Of course it was raining.
I got in and he stared at me for a few seconds, before speaking. I turned around and saw him coming out of the library.
"Luce? Wh-"
"Just drive." I said, my voice breaking.
He drove to his apartment and he gave me some of his clothes.
They were massive for me, but they worked.
He sat on his bed and I did too.
"What happened Luce?"
I took a deep breath and explained everything to him.
When I finished I just broke down into tears again and covered my face with my hands as he pulled me into a hug.
"You can sleep here tonight, if you'd like."
I felt my cheeks go red as I nodded and sobbed into his shoulder.I fell asleep laying on his chest as I felt something.
Oh.
My.
God.
He had a boner.
I looked up at him smiling as he looked back at me, bright red.
After a while we both fell asleep almost immediately.Maybe he isn't that bad after all.
Sorry this took a while to publish, I've been very busy lately and apologies that this chapter is very rushed.
