Inside the tower were three individuals. Well someone was cursing his misfotune of losing a Shogi match yet again. It would take a lot of brainpower to match up against a Naraso there's that.

"HOW ARE YOU SO GOOD AT THIS GAME SHIKA!?" Naruto then yelled as Shikamaru was lazily picking his ear with the pinky then blowing it away afterwards. Similar to a man who kills then smokes afterwards. "Aww Calm down now Naruto-kun you'll get him again like last time" Ino then said cooing Naruto to calm down. "Troublesome, It occurs to me Naturally so there's that. don't tell you you're gonna vent, we are quite even on the scoreboard. I'm simply just one step ahead Naruto" Shikamaru retorted making Naruto's eye twitch in the nonchalant reply of the Nara. He simply sighed and began to speak as well

"Well, You're a Nara so there's that. What do you think?" Naruto then said making both of his teammates question as to what did he meant "What do you mean Naruto-kun?" Ino asked much to her confusion? Shikamaru's interest peaked in the question wanting to know what did he mean as well. "Well with the civilian council on the way. Do you think I'll be able to become a chunin?" Naruto then asked prompting more questions to be asked and confusion dawned upon his two teammates.

"Of course you'll become chunin, Look Naruto-kun, You have all the tools and skillset to be one. What does the council has to do with it" Naruto then frowned. Shikamaru then remembered something upon Ino's statement, Then Ino had her eyes wide in realization.. "Oh.. It is about the Kyubi huh?" Ino then continued her past statement upon realization "Well, We just have to ace or have you ace the exams so that you'll be guaranteed a promotion. People are too dumb and troublesome. When will those troublesome people realize that the scroll isn't the same as the one sealed in it." Naruto gave the two a Hug he knew they can rely on them as his teammates well friends as well.

There was something unfamiliar looming around the room. Something sinister. It was stalking them earlier on during the exams. Not Orochimaru, but someone familiar yet not. As the lights in the room went out. For a few minutes, they suddenly heard a yelp from Ino. The lights went back on and Naruto and Shikamaru were the only ones left in the room. Naruto and Shikamaru Scambled around the room and tried to find Ino.

"INO-CHAN WHERE ARE YOU!!?" Naruto then yelled as Shikamaru then was looking for her as well. Naruto then noticed a note in the middle of the shogi board it alerted the two and made them uneasy.

Naruto then jerked up on high alert well on the outside atleast. On the inside, he was laughing maniacally. His plan was slowly forming into fruition. He made sure to never give himself out for any room of suspicion. Shikamaru is already a smart guy. Can't really risk acting too obvious.

"Troublesome. I bet this has something to do with you isn't it?" Naruto then nodded Just trying to comeup with a credible story so that Shikamaru wouldn't even figure it out himself given his smarts. Naruto decided to act upon instinct. Well, instinct if I mean his plan, Shikamaru just sighed in defeat. He knew how Naruto and Ino are interacting with each other much like couples and he couldn't help but calm his friend down but, like what they say

"Hell hath no fury of a man scorned"

Naruto leapt through the windows acting anxious as ever as Shikamaru tried to follow suit. He had all the thing planned out and He wasn't going to let anyone destroy his momentum, If he had to knockout his teammate to execute his plan contradicting his own morals. He would pull this simple harmless prank, Well with a touch of trauma. Naruto seemed to widen his senses according to Shikamaru's observation. Then finally had a link with his clone discussing on how the plan will go. This is something personal with him and Ino had waited long enough. He has to do it since there are a lot of genins this year who is already batting an eye towards Ino but oblivious to the fact that he has eyes batting on his way as well, Especially the Sand Kunoichi as well.
