After breakfast, Luciano left for work and I retreated to the enormous library, ready to lose myself in a world of novels. But my escape was short-lived.
"Camila, can I come in?"
I looked up to find Russo at the door, his head peeking inside.
A smile stretched across my face, and I ushered him in. He was holding a red plastic bag, making me squint to catch a glimpse of its contents.
He hugged me, and plopped down on the long sofa, beside me.
"How are you, beautiful?"
Truthfully, my ass cheeks were aching like hell, but I wasn't about to tell him that. I simply smiled.
"I guess you've been bored in here these past few weeks?" He raised a brow, and I quickly nodded.
"Yes, Russo. I'm bored! There's nothing for me to do. Whenever I want to go out, Luciano refuses, and it is so boring here without someone's company. He has TVs everywhere, but I can't even watch anything!"
I rambled, my annoyance evident.
He chuckled, shaking his head in amusement before handing me the bag.
"What's in here?"
"Camila, it's right in front of you." I smiled sheepishly and pulled out a white box bearing a familiar and luxurious brand logo.
Opening it, I was greeted by the scent of a brand-new iphone, one of the latest models.
"Oh my, Russo, you didn't have to buy me this. My old phone was perfectly fine."
"I suggested he just get your phone fixed, but he insisted on a new one because your old phone went missing after the party. Don't worry, though. He blocked your bank account and had all your money sent to his. Now he's bought you a new one and transferred the money back. He's also paid for the photoshoots you've done so far."
My heart melted at the sweet gesture. I smiled wide, wrapping my arm around his torso as I appreciated his kindness.
"Thank you, Russo. At least I won't be bored anymore. When he gets back, I need to thank him."
He smiled in understanding, then he stood up. My brow furrowed instinctively.
"Where to?"
"I'm sorry, but I have to go. I'm leaving for Italy." The sudden announcement made my eyebrows shoot up.
"Italy? Why?"
"To visit my sisters. I've been away from home for so long." My face fell in disappointment.
Russo had become my buddy, and it was going to be so boring without him.
"Hey, are you about to cry?" I stubbornly shook my head and pouted.
