We pulled into the driveway of a collection of small single-storey units.
"Home sweet home," Evan joked as he parked his car in his designated parking spot.
"Mine is the third down, look it's not much but it's better than living at my parents' house," Evan informed me, as I unclasped my seatbelt and opened the car door.
Once we were in front of his front door, I let my eyes wonder the exterior of the building. It was simple and the front yard was tidy, I saw only a single cobweb hang from the fence bordering the front porch. A small set of table and chairs covered a large glass window at the front of the unit, an ash tray perched on top. Evan reached into his pocket to retrieve his house key, and unlocked the door. I followed him into his living room after he turned on the light, to see an open planned space with a small kitchen and 4-seated dining table. There were three doors coming off the hallway to my left. From the kitchen, I noticed a sliding door leading out into the yard. He had a grey L shaped sofa in his living area, adorned in a throw rug and small cushions. A glass top coffee table and a small TV cabinet sat in front of the sofa, a huge 50-inch TV sitting on the top. It was clean and simple - just like the outside of the unit.
I watched as Evan ventured over to the kitchen counter and threw his keys and phone down. He opened the fridge as I stood awkwardly by the arm of the couch.
"Would you like a drink?" Evan offered me. I politely declined. Evan pulled out a Powerade and walked over to the coffee table, settling it down there before disappearing down the hallway. He came back with two towels, and tossed me one. I caught it and wrapped it around myself, before thanking him.
"Would you like a shirt? Yours is soaking wet," Evan raised his eyebrows at me.
"Actually, if you don't mind," I brought my thumb up to my mouth and bit the nail nervously.
"Of course, wait here," Evan disappeared again. I unzipped my jacket and let it fall in a heap on the floor at my feet. I kicked off my converse and stood there in my wet striped crew socks, tank top and tights. I'm sure you could see how cold I was though my tank.
Evan appeared again in front of me with two grey shirts. I watched as he pulled his wet shirt over his head and took off it off. My heart beat loudly in my chest. My God, I wonder how he looked so good. Soft abs and pecs poked out from his torso, and a V line creeped out from the waistband of his jeans. I had to cross my legs as I stood in front of him, so close to him. I think Evan caught me staring because he began to chuckle.
"Why did you go all funny for?" Evan asked as he put on his clean shirt. I blushed bright red, I can't believe I gawked at him like he was a piece of meat.
"I.." I trialed off, "-I think you know," I bit my lip as I watched him look me up and down, "you were shirtless in front of me.. were you expecting me not to look?" I tried to play it off, but I could still feel my heart beating, and my legs were still crossed.
"Let's just watch the movie," I interjected, and sat on the sofa with my legs crossed. I put on the t-shirt Evan gave me - it smelt like washing powder, musk and cigarettes. Evan laughed and followed me onto the sofa. His back slouched and he raised his arm to rest it on the back rest of the sofa, inches from being around me.
"You don't mind if I take off my tights? They're like stuck to my legs," my tights were making me feel uncomfortable, and his shirt was long enough to cover down to my mid thigh.
"Of course not," With that, I slid off my tights and picked them up to fold them, before setting them down on the floor in front of us.
"So what streaming service is it on?" Evan asked me as he turned on his smart TV.
