Pacing in circles momentarily, you start to panic again.
There has to be a way out. Something or someone was down that corridor and you really didn't want to find out who.
A staircase. Something.
There had to be another way out.
You pull out the map on your fazwatch in an attempt to situate yourself. The map wasn't helpful as it didn't have any labels for the basement area, but, you think that you may be in a corridor next to the kitchen.
The loading docks also seemed to be down that corridor, as well as any other form of exit. You were basically trapped in a dead end.
There really wasn't any way of avoiding this.
You head down the corridor, but not without protection. You found a loose pipe amongst cargo boxes and hoisted it with your arms.
If anything jumped out on you, at least you could try to slam a home run.
The pitter-patter of your footsteps suspended, cut through the silent hallway. You slow down, coming to a stop.
But the footsteps continue.
They weren't your footsteps.
At the end of the hallway, there was a light, and you hurry towards it. You couldn't hear where the footsteps were coming from.
The hallway echoed the sounds. Even the slightest of pin drops, sounded like prickling and tinkering rain from all around, shivering through the hard brick walled hallway.
You were now running towards the light, slowing down when you see a silhouette move behind the corridors end, around the corner.
The light wasn't an exit door. It was a flashlight laying on the floor. You didn't immediately hurry to get it,
Someone, was behind that corner.
You hold your pipe up and grip it until you knuckles went white, slowly approaching the corner, leaning against the wall.
You were ready.
In an instance, you turn the corner with your pipe held in the air.
Red eyes.
You were face to face.
With large, glowing, red eyes.
Pupils like black pin-prickling kneedles.
Stitches and damp white fur.
A large head.
Your noses almost touching.
WHAM!
You bring down your pipe with force, and stumble back in the process.
Your foot lands on the flashlight and you slip.
On the floor, you watch as the humanoid rabbit runs into the darkness,
And you are left with an echoing pitter-patter of its footsteps.
